In 2010 Lars AP wrote the book F***ing Flink ('Flink' is Danish for friendly). Since then, he has rallied together a constantly growing posse of friendly people, leading F***ing Flink forward to become a national movement hell-bent on nudging Danes to become friendlier -- at home, at work, or at the busstop.
As the movement continues to assert its social acupuncture, Lars AP's goal is clear: That Danes -- the world's happiest people -- one day also become the world's friendliest.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.*

OMG Lars, your point with the personality while speaking English vs. Danish is so true. I am experiencing the same. I grew up in Canada and how now spent 16 years in Canada, and 21 years in Denmark. I am so shy and awkward in Danish, but happy, open and debatable in English.

Olivia, I'm so glad the point resonates with you. I've heard back from SO many people on this issue, so we're not alone. I think it's comforting to now that we're not schizophrenic, it's actually a normal feeling. And just a pity having to live with your 'Danish self' (if you're still living in Denmark, that is), when you know yo have such a wonderful other inside you. We'll have to work hard and be creative to find ways to let that other self out into the world (-:

That is the first time I've seen a speaker give someone their shirt so they would be temporarily topless. By the way the speaker was very good looking.

This guy should see Neon Genesis Evangelion to see some perspective on people being close to each other/empathic or distant.

***** Wow. Well, I'm sorry you were bullied as a kid. I'm not using it as a reference, to begin with. You are seriously twisting this in your mind to prove your shitty point to yourself, but keep going. It's not like NGE is a deconstruction of anime and weaboo culture itself... And it's not like there are numerous videos here on KZfaq discussing the philosophy and themes of the series... (wait they're all worthless because they made by weaboos, lel) It's not like the animation is a mere medium for telling a story, like writing, or filmmaking... It's not like the series mentions the Hedgehog's Dilemma, an idea by philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, which was also referenced by Sigmund Freud... It's not like these two men ever existed and walked the earth... It's not like it could be of interest to the man who made this video... Nooo everyone, none of this exists or happened or matters because Dezzy is very small minded and anything animu is shit.. aww.. :'(

***** thanks lol. I try, I try. Since your first reply I felt flattered and humbled you considered me a full-bred weaboo. If only. Thanks for the laughs.

Scandinavia looks more and more like a place I would fit in, except the countries are damn cold, I'm too short, and North Germanic languages are freaking intimidating :)

The danish are NOT the happiest people on earth lol. Idk who is but they are just content maybe or just unwilling to voice their discontentment with their country or their problems with a poll taker so they might just all say “ya ya I’m happy” instead of complaining about their kitchen being 15 years old or whining about politics in the same way we Americans might. Not saying we are the happiest but we are usually a pretty happy go lucky bunch imo. But we are also good at expressing emotions which danish/ Northern Europeans don’t have so that’s why they are happier on charts.
