yup, reading this manga you get the distinct impression that this author touches grass regularly. All the characters and scenarios feel so authentic. I feel like this work is kinda underrated tbh.

Most of the jokes are just plausible everyday events (within the dodgy criminal world these people live in) and the characters react according to their established personalities, so the story flows very naturally between the more lighthearted and serious moments.

The manga cover where hes looking in the mirror and his reflection is him as fable with the ski mask is so crazy. I saw the cover and immediatly read the manga. Even the movies were very good.

I remember one of the girls in an episode of "Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru" was reading Fable and I had to look up what it was because based on the cover it was clearly a real series.

It's truly FABLEous. Kind of sad that haven't seen a single video about Fable manga, neither the anime which is also done amazing, the retro style is on point. Too bad i found out of this piece of art 3 weeks ago through browsing seasonal anime on mal, after it finishing airing i'll read the manga later because the drawing style is EPIC

It's great manga. It has a perfect balance between comedy and dark yakuza , hitman theme . Surprisingly they are also somehow able to blend romance with it (which initially I did't got but at the end it starts to see) .

Finally I find a review for The Fable manga. This was the second manga I ever read and it has always remained in my top 3. Coincidentally I just finished Yakuza LAD and absolutely loved it. Just started Kiwami as well. Your comparison is spot on, same with the Golden Kamuy x Jojo comparison. Good shit man.

If you want another yakuza manga recomendation, I recommend Kizu Darake No Jinsei, it is great manga with a lot of emotion

Well, at least thank to the title, I get more curious and more serious on reading this manga To be honest, first time read is as a reader, second time read is as a writer. I read it once, so I don't think I fully understood why it's so great. (Nah actually I just talk stuff down there. Like, it's not really logical to understand yet, but yes, to me, that's why the manga is good, so you can also see that) Let's say, every character has their story. The Wagara something (big guy), while as a boss, he has to talk big, but they also show us a lot of his normal side, like when he's cooking or when he begs Akira for help. Kuro guy is also funny, as he wants to be something big. Yuuko has her story, Miki also has her story. Even some outsider like the shop owner, he also has story. There is also story to teach. First is when Wagara asks Akira about life, then when Kuro asks Akira about being something big. I think it's important, as with how much media and game, people seems to be missing the whole idea of of killing. As cool is a big no no. Being something big, changing the history, maybe, but you shouldn't dream big (in case of killing but yes, life is not your imagination, so big dream big flop). And the yakuza part. They manages to store all the hatred into one guy and makes that guy as hateful as possible, everyone in the gang want to kill him. That's also a great part on building impression.

Golden kamuey. And not a manga, but a show called Barry, as the exact same premise, and honestly, I think it’s better (at least in terms of how it explores its characters and themes)
