THE FABULOUS SUPERLATIVES LIVE! (Marty Stuart´s Band) (2)
Country Music was the 11th studio album of American country singer Marty Stuart, released in 2003. For this album he formed a new backing band called the Fabulous Superlatives. To date, Marty and his Superlatives are still touring, recording, and performing.
The members of the band are:
'Cousin' Kenny Vaughan - Guitar
'Handsome' Harry Stinson - Drums
'Brother' Brian Glenn - Bass (who would later be replaced by 'The Apostle' Paul Martin, who was subsequently replaced by 'Professor' Chris Scruggs)
Marty and The Superlatives open with 'Tempted' - 'Cousin' Kenny Vaughan sings 'The Things I Do' - Connie Smith sings 'Farmer's Blues' - 'The Apostle' Paul Martin sings 'There Won't Be Any More' - Leroy Troy sings 'That New River Train' - 'Handsome' Harry Stinson accompanies himself on the guitar, for the first time on TV, as he sings his own composition: 'What Jesus Can Do For You' - Marty and The Superlatives close with 'Lucky Man'.

I've had the honor of knowing Marty since we were both 5 years old and lived nextdoor to each other. Even back then , he always told me what he wanted to do with his life...play Country music. I fully remember the very first time that he sang in public. My Dad was the pastor of the church where His family were members. His mother , Ms.Hilda played the piano for the church. Mr. John is now in HEAVEN , but I still stay in contact with Ms.. Hilda and his sister Jennifer. Good down home Christian people !

I just "discovered" Marty Stuart while listening to Tom Petty Radio in Sirius. Marty's cover of "Fault Lines" featuring just him and his mandolin, is superlative (pun intended). I'm a fan of blues rock, Just discovering country music.

Saw a 14 year old Marty Stuart in Lester Flatt's band years ago. So, yeah he's played some bluegrass, I'd say. lol

Manuel stood by Marty when Marty's career and personal life were in a mess. Manuel made him a gorgeous jacket to help Marty regain confidence and had him to stay in his house while it was being made.

I've become a huge fan of the Superlatives over the last few years, I've always known about Marty and his mastery of stringed instruments since his days with John R Cash. I kind of turned away from country when that early 90's Nashville pop caught on. Thank goodness for these guys carrying the flag high, loud Fender guitars and Deluxe Reverbs and a million songs that stand up today.
