The Face of Anonymous: Meet the Man Behind the Mask | ENDEVR Documentary
Watch 'Living Forever Through AI - The Future of Death' here: • Living Forever Through...
In the late Spring of 2020 - in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Black Lives Matter, and U.S. presidential nomination coverage - mainstream media outlets reported that the anarchic “hacktivist” network Anonymous was back after several years of relative quiet. “We will be exposing your many crimes to the world,” a masked messenger told the Minneapolis police department in a clip that went viral, captivating millions of young viewers. “We are legion. Expect us.”
This pivotal moment is the perfect time to unveil The Face of Anonymous, a verité journey into the world of Commander X, one of the most iconic, divisive, and outspoken figures in the history of the international online movement. Now living in exile in Mexico, Commander X is ready to tell his own remarkable story and reveal not just the How but the Why of Anon’s modus operandi.
Christopher Mark Doyon, aka Commander X, personifies the trajectory of American activism “from the streets, to the Internet, and then back to the streets,” says journalist and author David Kushner, one of several observers, compadres, and detractors who provide the context - and, sometimes, reality check - in which Commander X’s rough and righteous odyssey unfolds.
We are introduced to Commander X by Toronto novelist Ian Thornton who confesses that, at first, he couldn’t believe that the thin, craggy, talkative panhandler he’d befriended was a cyber warlord who’d been on the run from the FBI for six years.

That hostel owner and hostel manager in Mexico are saints. Regardless of how you feel about X. The fact that they took him in… the fact that they were willing to even entertain it, and listen to him, and feed him and help him… those people are 1 in a million, maybe 1 in 10 million. Same with the Ian Thornton guy. The supporting characters in his story are why he’s made it this far. We should all be so lucky as to come across people like that during hard times.

What's weird is I looked him up and since this has been made he was arrested in Mexico City in 2021 and brought back to California. Then in 2022 he pled guilty and the last news I can find is that he was scheduled to be sentenced on June 28 of 2022. Well it's been a year since then and there is no news of his sentencing or anything. What's even more weird is I searched for him in the federal prisoner database and it says, "release date: unknown", "location: not in custody". So what the heck ended up happening to him???

This man is just so interesting in a number of ways. I could try to pick apart his brain all day. He's good natured at heart and has a strong sense of justice, but he also has a massive ego and a strong need for attention. He ate up every ounce of media attention he got, going to the extent of bluffing about having "all the government documents." His biggest downfall is his ego and his desire for spotlight. Either way, I love anonymous and the work they've done, I hope they continue to do the right thing.

He's also intense to the point of almost being annoying. But he's articulate and sharp and a rebel in his own right. And I think he's a good person, as Kristii here said. So I like that and I can't help but respect him. His sarcasm is scathing too, I love it.

If you watch KZfaq videos on a daily basis, paying for premium is a must. Watching videos without ads is a much better experience-especially with the ones that play for an hour if you don't skip it. Not having to skip ads is nice when you're busy working on something. And if you're busy working on things, then your time is valuable. Seeing 2minutes a day worth of short adds would roughly mean an hour a month. Time and convenient are worth it

I hope Commander X is living a comfortable life with a nice bed and pillow to sleep on every night. I hope he gets 3 healthy meals a day. He obviously has great tenacity and stays focused on his beliefs. I believe his intentions are good and that he has always wanted to stand up for the average citizen. Whistle blowers should be viewed as heroic. They are revealing the corruption of governments and big corporations.

What an interesting doc. I believe in just defiance, but I also believe that a cause must be greater than a one. A flock walking as a whole, is heeded, but a lone one that wanders away becomes a target. If everyone takes it up on themselves to become a notorious celebrity of resistance.... Soon enough they will all be picked off. (just my opinion, but that's really the only problem I can see here.) We have to keep our heads on straight and not fall to greed or ego.

"I did not have good parents...I got into computers" you know I wonder - this is my story and many other programmers. As a brown female who is very outgoing with a very healthy social life (non traditional programmer and not a geek at all), how was I attracted to computers to the depth required to be a good programmer? What is the universal bind that programmers have that attract them to computers? I hypothesize that neglected, smart children are attracted to computers and if we target these children with providing computer resources early, we can heal a great many children and as adults they can heal the world as well.
