Ryan Gosling has been on a roll this past year. Back-to-back comedies with one of them earning him an Oscar nomination (for playing a plastic doll no less), and then topping off with a guest gig on SNL (Beavis and Butthead especially has become iconic, and reaction worthy IMO).

The part where she does the goofy thing when she is telling him about karaoke she says was her getting Goslinged. When they were walking back up the steps to do another take and they both like to ad lib, but she did something different he said she should do it and she did and it ended up in the movie. She said, "I looked like a dork and he was just grinning there and that is what it is like to be Goslinged".

Ryan gosling has surprised me recently with how good he is at comedies, because I have always just linked him with the notebook and La la land.

Lee Majors and Heather were the stars of the original tv series. They were the two who came in arrested the bad guys at the end. Lee Majors also sang the original version of the theme song which had an updated version in the credits. The show and show version of the song were much better.

This is based on a TV series from the 80's, but when I first watched it I had the same thought, and it reminded me of "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", where Brad Pitt plays Leonardo DiCaprio's stunt double. The funny thing is the woman who plays the director of the movie they're filming in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is played by Zoë Bell, who is a stunt actress who was Uma Thurman's stunt double in the Kill Bill movies (among many other things), and Tarantino later cast her as herself in Death Proof - which itself is an homage to 70's practical stunts - and then gave her a bit role as the director in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" which is in turn a movie about an actor and his stunt double. We're living in an era of stunt inception. I also love how they filmed the stunt guys filming the stunt guys filming the stunt guys filming the actors filming the actors playing stunt guys and played those clips during the credits (and Emily Blunt needs to do more less serious roles; she's funny and adorable, but is almost always doing something dark and serious).

Just a point of clarification, since it took me a minute to figure out - when he says he was doing stunts for Miami Vice, he means the stunt show at Universal Studios Hollywood, not the TV show. The stunt show lasted until the mid-90s and was replaced by the Waterworld stunt show, which is still there!

This movie breaks the Guinness World Record of the most car rolls (a fact which Gail actually mentions in the dialogue). The previous record was from the Bond movie Casino Royal (2006). I don't get why people had issues with this movie. It's just good goofy fun. It doesn't try to be more than what it is, plus you gotta love the respect they're giving the stunt guys with this. Also, fun fact: the stunt where they rolled the car at the beginning actually broke a real world record.

The 1980's "Fall Guy" TV show was a stuntman, Colt Severs, that did a side job of working for a bail bonds company which was ran by Markie Post. When this came out, I was hoping it was going to be more true to the TV show. Regardless, I did like it. Really like Emily Blunt as a blonde. For an old school stuntman movie, check out "Hooper" with Burt Reynolds.

If you're interested in another movie about stuntpeople, check out Hal Needham's Hooper(1978). It also has an incredible cast and Hal Needham is a famous stuntperson himself.

If anyone is considering watching the full movie, I'd suggest the theatrical release over the Director's cut -- It's a much tighter film and a few of the jokes/bits have a much stronger setup because of that.

My dad was a huge fan of the original tv show with Lee Majors. I tried the show but couldn't get into it. Still, I decided to take my dad to see the movie. And this was a GREAT movie! I loved it! I can not remember the last time I walked out of a movie enjoying it that much. I am super bummed that it did not do well because I really wanted sequels.

If you're interested in movies/shows that explore filmmaking in general, I think you will enjoy SUNSET BOULEVARD (1950) and especially THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL (1952) (one of the best films in that genre). Even the recently released miniseries THE SYMPATHIZER has an episode based on that, with Robert Downey Jr. playing multiple roles with one of them being a Francis Ford Coppola-like director in that episode (RDJ might win an Emmy later this year to add to his Oscar).

In my opinion, this is one of the coolest films of this year. This is a kind of tribute to all stuntmen who are often the heroes of the film, but underestimated. Additionally, watching this film in IMAX provided additional experiences. And yes, this Metalstorm soundtrack is a parody of Dune. What's funny, before Your reaction, there was an ad for Giorgio Armani perfumes, in which Taylor appeared, and I immediately associated it with the advertisement in the film. Pozdrawiam z Polski :)

Aaron Taylor Johnson is incredibly charismatic in Bullet Train, I highly recommend it, its got the perfect blend of comedy and action.

I saw the movie 4 times in theaters and there is a lot of stuff in this version of the movie that wasn't in the theatrical cut.

The one in the cloud is doctored and the only one left with the real people waa on Ryders phone. The bag and the gun wasn't in the theater version. Please watch the theater version because this one is really confusing. Gosling explains being terrified of heights and doing that drop at the beginning didn't cure him. His wife and daughters forbid him to do fire. They said, "Daddy don't catch on fire."

When I heard about this movie I was worried about it being to far off the Theme/Spirit from the TV Series....... The actress playing Iggy Star, also played Number 6 in the movie "I Am Number 4". Unfortunately it wasn't quite what movie fans wanted to accept at the time and it's still now known as a flop. It COULD have been a good franchise. But sadly no. It died. Just like "The Mortal Instruments" It lacked any lasting impressions. Which also brings to my mind the movie "The Mortal Engines". It too could have been good but too many people felt it was a sad excuse for a Mad Max rip-off. It was actually so much more to be honest.

OK, but did you like it? Did you like the cast? Be honest. 🤣🤣🤣

The big problem with this film, was that they went and called it "The Fall Guy". Which I can't for the life of me, work out why they did. Isn't the whole point of taking the title, and main character, for a film, from a classic TV series, so that you can then pay homage to that series, and stick to the format of it, even just loosely. But if you then go ahead, and use virtually nothing from the original TV show, save the title, and the main characters name, then what is the point? The irony of all of that, is that if they hadn't called it The Fall Guy, and it was simply put out as a film about a stunt man, I don't think one person would have said "Hang on a moment.... Isn't this just a rip off of that old show The Fall Guy?" And that's because it isn't. It bears very little, if anything, to the classic 80s show. Except the title, colt severs, and the truck. The premise of the film is, apart from those things, entirely different. So it could have gone down in history, as just a decent action comedy film about the adventures of a stunt man. But instead, the first reaction of virtually everyone over the age of forty five, after seeing it, will be to say "So what did any of that have to do, with the TV show?". Whilst everyone under that age will likely just assume it's an original film, with an original title, and character name. And not care about some outdated crappy old TV series that if they got to see, would cringe at, and dismiss, as being corny and terrible. Maybe the producers thought that with it being a recognised property, it might help sell it, out of nostalgic curiosity. That's the only reason I can think of, why they used the name only, and not the shows general set up and story line. Ironically.... Again.... It never actually did that, in the end. Still..... At least they never ruined it, as half as much as they did, the daddy of 80s TV action shows - the A Team - now, that film truly WAS a travesty. As was that dreadful remake of Knight Rider that hit TV screens in the 2000s. You'd think by now, the wiser thing to do, is not just ride the shirt tails of old classics, hoping to hit it rich, and to actually come up with fresh ideas themselves. Or at least, change the title. Things could then just be viewed on their own merit, and be judged as such. Instead of helping to take the shine off the childhood TV memories of folks, over the age of 50.
