I always questioned that. Children literally and mentally tearing themselves apart to get some approval from parents still stuck in their own worlds. The expectations stacked high from the very beginning, as if the children need to exactly be like their parents as it seems, but it's just not possible, even if their children meets said expectations. Some parents may not deserve children if they can't see their children are more than just a part of them that they try to shape like them. Nothing's wrong with pushing our limits in anything we do, but there's something wrong when even a person's trauma or other fears just runs said parents to the point they would take it out on their own children who never knew information of people's lives outside of their own.

I think its so interesting that Vince, who betrayed and took over his dad company, was always distrustful of his own kids, because he knew they could do the same to him (and technically, eventually they did with just HHH running WWE now and Vince gone)

Vince did not "betray" his dad. He bought the company from him when Vince Sr retired. With the added clause that if he missed even one of the quarterly payments, control would revert back to Vince Sr, and the other three co-owners, Gorilla Monsoon, Phil Zacko and Arnold Skaaland. What Vince Jr didn't do was tell his dad what he wanted to do with the company. Vince Sr would have never sold it to Jr otherwise.

The thing is, he may not recover from this…but at this stage he’s got away with decades of shady stuff that probably would have toppled a poorer or less powerful man much sooner. Even if he was put on hard labour until the end of his life, realistically that will still be a relatively short punishment, all things considered and the chances of any punishment given being that severe for a friend of a former president is pretty slim. He’s got everything he wanted really and got away with it

@@TheoAndHisPedalsallow me to spin a positive then: He will live long enough for EVERYTHING he’s built to be forever tarnished by his name He put EVERYTHING and ALL of his life into WWE And it’s a known fact he HATES being reminded of his massive failures in things like the XFL and other ventures outside WWE like the films Now this lawsuit, and ESPECIALLY if it comes out all true or at least brings to light other convictions that bury him, will make all that work practically meaningless since HIS creations will die Not the WWE as a whole, but what it becomes going forward under the hands of Endeavor and Triple H will no longer be anything Vince related Vince’s WWE and legacy will now FOREVER be tarnished with INNUMERABLE accusations and asterisks next to names HE is the actual poison instead of the nWo from that old promo long ago, and everyone touched by him will suffered for it in one way or another Just look at his family and Brock as prime examples, even Mark Callaway/Undertaker is being questioned by many online because of his long standing relationship and history So while he may get away with not much punishment for the sake of proper justice, he will live long enough to see everything he worked his a** off for several DECADES be forever tarnished and his own name buried in the mud permanently Alongside seeing how loyal those he’s worked with all those years are when they reveal more or throw him under the bus, just look at Johnny Ace for an example

It honestly is no wonder Vince is the person he is when you look at his family history. Abused as child, had a rough relationship with his father. His issues with being an absolute control fiend make sense when you realize he didn't even have much agency over his own life and goals until he was a middle-aged. I wish he had used that energy mlre positively instead of making the lives of his employees anywhere between difficult and a living nightmare.

Vince Sr knew what kind of a person his son was and that's why he didn't want him to have full control of the business. Vince Jr didn't respect the territories, he only cared about himself. His father knew that his son had messed up morals and values. WWF/WWE would have still been successful and could have grown to what it is today without the scandals if Vince Jr had more of his father's and grandfather's respect for others and a real love for the business.
@leon4000
@leon4000 6 ай бұрын
It would have been if Vince's father had a better relationship with his son. The fact that Vince was obsessed about control originates from not having much control in his life. It begs to questions of which specific events in Vince's life did his morals became the way it did and behavior. It's a mistake to write off a little kid and his actions and not realize the parents themselves and their actions often factors into the unchecked mind of their child. Growing up has its challenges, but the way some parents do it are questionable the second they don't show visual proof of the love of their child and their child never sees it. Vince may not have had it enough if he was doing the things he did.

I think when Vince was negotiating the TKO deal, he must have known the lawsuit (and probably more that haven't happened yet) was coming. He only got back on the board to negotiate the sale. He managed to cash out before that shoe dropped. Now he is in a better financial place to fight and pay out any damages. In my opinion, he didn't think he'd be able to hang on to leadership. He just wanted to position himself financially for his legal defenses. He was being shrewd the entire time.

Isn’t it amazing that Shane turned out so well? Other than the Rumble 20 rumors he’s universally well regarded by his co-workers. He’s happily married to a normal person, a good father - none of the Vince n Steph corporate megalomania.

Some things being cast in new light for me: Becky, Charlotte and Paige being dubbed "The Submission Sorority," which also happened to be an adult content website. In an interview Paige said she told WWE it was also the name of an adult site but the company went ahead with it in spite of that. It makes that branding so much more uncomfortable. Especially when Paige says she told them why it was a bad idea but someone still said "We're going ahead as planned." The alleged number of times that Vince wanted to do an incest storyline: Ken Shamrock refusing to do that storyline with his "sister" Ryan. "Beaver Cleavage." Vince's almost incest story between Shane and Stephanie. Another where Vince himself was potentially (?) the father of Stephanie's baby. The storyline of HHH drugging, marrying, and violating Stephanie: "The question isn't "if we," but "how many times did we," consummate the marriage?" Then retconned to say Stephanie wasn't drugged by HHH but was in on it all along. The Trish Stratus WM storyline with Linda. The "kiss my ass club."

I wonder if Vince has ALWAYS resented his son Shane, and shooting down ALL his ideas? Shane was right, he is the only man in that family. It still doesn't excuse him or booking the Rumble, although I saw that as an act of defiance from Shane to both his dad and the old guard for all those years of Vince neglecting and resenting Shane and his ideas that were way ahead for the time.

I think he did in a way, I have a feeling that if they did succeeded in relaunching WCW as it's own company back in 2001 and if Shane was indeed in charge of that in real life it might have been a better product. Vince might have seen his own son as a threat which is normal in a strange way.

I hate to say this, but when someone says that he'd rather kill his own creation rather than watch someone else take over the reigns (no pun intended), then you know that something is wrong. Really wrong. It's like hiring assassins to smoke out your own estranged kid because said kid was doing well (without you) and better than you. 😢
