These are the filming locations throughout the state of New Jersey, New York and California that were used for the movie "The Family Man." I have tracked down nearly all the locations that were used during production of this movie to create this video. Some images and clips were used as Fair Use for educational purposed to make this video.

This video was awesome! Thank you so much for making it. My wife and I watch this movie a dozen times a year during the holidays and we are going to NYC this year for the week of Christmas. You’ve inspired me to rent a car and take her on a tour of all the spots. You might appreciate this but I secretly learned the song La La La Means I Love You on the piano and surprised my wife on her birthday last year by playing and singing it for her. Got it all on video and she cried half the time it was so fun! 😂

@@ComeSeeWithMe Do you know the building or address of Jack’s penthouse building entrance? Not the Olympic Tower where his penthouse is filmed, but the scene where he tries to go inside but the doorman tells him to take a walk. You said in the video it was another building but didn’t mention where. Thanks!

The address is 2000 Broadway (between west 68 & 69), but you’ll want to go down the sidewalk along the side of the building to find the entrance you’re asking about. It has a very distinctive awning (sort of a staggered gold color) over the top of the doors. It’s pretty recognizable when you see it.

That house is at 910 Prince Street in Teaneck, NJ.

I love this movie, so thank you for doing such an in-depth tour of most of the filming locations. I was sad to learn that the Merrison Street house was torn down, it was so cute! That would've been cool if they had used the interiors for filming, too, but oh well. Still one of my favorite film houses. Thanks again for the great video!

Thank you. Yeah, I was very bummed to learn the house was torn down. I almost didn’t go do these locations because of it, but ultimately decided that I would. Still, it was the main location I wanted to see. I just wish I could have seen it before it was torn down. Oh well…

I grew up on Cherry Lane across from the house that was rebuilt. I had a crush on the lady who lived there. lol

Ha ha! I was disappointed that the house wasn’t there as it was a main location and I almost didn’t do the video because it had been torn down and rebuilt. But I decided to go ahead and do it anyway. It stinks that the house is no longer there, but the one that’s there now certainly appears to be nicer.

Very well done. I had seen the Merrison St house (street view) when it was still there and for sale. Then did see tear down shots or rebuild images. Can’t recall. At least the new house is reminiscent of houses in the area vs typical modern monstrosities. FYI: Jeannie was Arnie’s wife and she was just running an errand coming out of their driveway. Regardless, a timeless fav movie and don’t we all wish our lives were as wonderful as Jack’s “glimpse.”

I was really bummed when I learned they tore the house down. It was a key location and I almost didn’t do this video when I learned that it was gone. But over time, I decide to do it anyway. I guess I never made the connection between Arnie and Jeannie. They never show them as a couple or even together though out the movie if I remember correctly. Even in the cast they are only listed by first name and without a last. However, they both wear wedding rings, so you are probably right. It is a little odd that they appear in a few scenes at the same time but never “together” from what I remember. Thanks for mentioning that to me.

Nicolas Cage actually owned that Ferrari before that film was shot. He sold it a year earlier. I used to live in New Jersey. Back then, all of North Jersey used the 201 area code. South Jersey was 609.

It really helps to avoid any window shots , particularly big, where it becomes obvious of not being a New York New Jersey location Entirely too much sunlight

My wife and I would do a lot of Christmas shopping every year near this area, and since we dig the movie (we watch it every year for the Holidays) we’d visit some of these filming locations - the library always threw me off - I think the Teaneck lettering threw us off the trail - and what is the street Evelyn’s house is on? We were also missing Arney’s house precisely because of the backyard disconnection from the front facade. Where is the park from the end (what street)? And is there a way to verify Hollywood Star Lanes was used? It does look similar but there are also some apparent differences - I was convinced it was an error on iMDB… ?

That is a park in Closter, NJ. Not too far away from the library that they used as the school location. This site took me a long time to locate as there was nothing whatsoever listed for its location. I literally spent hours searching Google Maps for it before I finally discovered it.

If you’re asking about the house that Jack and Kate lived in, it was 155 Merrison St. But keep in mind the house used in filming was torn down so the house that is there now wasn’t in the movie.

I know it has some cheesy moments, but I still like this movie. I like the premise of the sorry and actually look forward to watching it around the holidays. I’m not saying it’s a great movie, but I do like it.
