You've probably heard it mentioned and recommended on the forums, facebook groups etc but what really makes this profile so nice and fun to play. HW explains what the famous AC20 profile has going on in terms of compression and EQ.

The Absolute is an old Austin Speaker Works AlNiCo Absolute. Joe used ASW speakers when we were building them early on. He later changed to Celestion.

By Mrpacheco I used my Morgan AC20 Deluxe through my Morgan 1x12 cab with an ASW Absolute 25 W speaker I used a Sennheiser e906 on the middle switch position, close mic'd.)

Howdy, HW! Just wanted to mention how much I appreciate your work and effort that you put in your videos and this whole channel. I really love that your channel, which is constantly filled with Kemper technogy is a perfect example for describing complexity and overall deepness of this invention. You're a true evangelist of a whole new Kemper religion, and I love it. Hope that someday I'll be one of yours and Kemper followers. This thing is a real beast. Keep up the good work!

Ever considered doing a profile of anything by Audio Kitchen? Their preamp pedal the big trees is incredible, they also make a little chopper and big chopper amp and they are some of the best sounding amps used by people like Noel Gallagher and Simon Neil, both have amazing tones and I can’t find any profiles of these amps anywhere

I can’t lie, I thought your 5f6 bassman was too expensive but I bought the profiles on Black Friday and those are my new favorite clean profiles. I gotta check out this ac20 now. I wonder if a tele through it will sound too trebly

I'm the author of that profile. Originally I put it on the rig exchange but then Kemper asked if they could just include it in the factory presets. So you have to get the factory presets and it's in there.

I’ve always contended two things about that profile: 1. This doesn’t sound like an AC20. 2. This profile is all about the EQ.

Hi HW, I hope your wife is getting well and you and the family stay safe. I can use some advice and guidance with the Kemp please. I will be getting an Unpowered Kemper this Friday. Question, can I plug my guitar into the Kemper, and the Kemper into my Mark V amp, will that work, if so how do I make the connections? I’m also thinking about getting the Headrush FRFR 108. Can I hook straight into that or do I need some power source, if have to get equipment to power it, what do you suggest? Thanks for any consideration in advising me.

I’m sure you could find a KZfaq video that answers your question - make sure you download the manual from Kemper’s website, since I believe you’ll find your answers there as well.

You don’t want to plug the Kemper that is producing sound with the character of a guitar amp into a guitar amp with its own character. You simple want to amplify the Kemper sound so it’s audible without adding additional gain, EQ, amp character, and so on. Use headphones, studio monitors, a PA system, or full a range cabinet like the Kemper Cab. That said, you could turn off the Kemper amp section and run the unit into a regular guitar amp. In this case, you’re only using the Kemper for its effects in front of the amp like a pedalboard.

Thanks for the replies. I will get the manual with the Kemper. I have been looking at KZfaq videos for days, but no luck yet, not many videos on the unpowered Kemper or any with strep by step hook up instruction videos (reason for asking for help). It would be helpful for some suggestions on what power source I would need to power the unpowered Kemper with the Headrush FRFR 108. I’m new to all this technology and a bit overwhelmed. I’m grateful to those of you that reply .

Just to add a little to what Desi Serna Guitar said, the Kemper is [effects, amp, and mic'd cabinet], all in the box. Any of these you use in addition to the Kemper will be duplicating what the Kemper already does. But you can shut off certain sections of the Kemper, so you really have three general choices: 1) Shut off the Kemper Amp AND Cab sections and use it as a very expensive effects unit in front of your Mark V (if you do this, you really don't need to have a Kemper -- its strength IS the Amp/Cab section, in my opinion, and its ability to duplicate nearly any amp/cab sound in existence). This would just be guitar into Kemper, Kemper main out to normal Mark V guitar input. 2) This may not work for you. Shut off just the Cab section on your Kemper, use the Kemper effects and preamp section, and plug that into your speaker cabinet (not into the preamp, since the Kemper is already doing that). Disclaimer -- I'm not as familiar with this option, but I believe most people who do this have a powered Kemper into a speaker cabinet. Your Kemper is unpowered, so whatever you plug it into will need to be powered, or you will need to buy a poweramp. . . you can't plug it directly into a normal speaker cabinet. You MAY be able to plug the Kemper into the Mark V power amp/effects return, but you need to find out from someone who really knows! This would be guitar into Kemper, Kemper main out into Mark V effects return. (I've heard some people like to use their cabinet as an on-stage monitor, using the monitor line out from the Kemper, while running the main outs from the Kemper to the PA system. But the monitor out to the cab still needs some sort of power amp, whether a powered Kemper or a rackmount poweramp, etc.) (Side note about Kemper main outs -- they're stereo, so if you only use one output into your Mark V effects return, you will only get half of a stereo signal. You will need to go into System settings and change the main outs to mono. OR, I think you can use monitor out, with will be mono already.) 3) The simplest is to use all of your Kemper, and plug it directly (line out or XLR out) into a powered FRFR speaker, PA, or use headphones, etc. I believe the Headrush FRFR 108 is powered, so that should work. My main gig is just plugging the line out or XLR out of my unpowered Kemper into the PA. Remember that the Kemper is [effects, preamp, cabinet, and microphone], so whatever you would do with the XLR out from your mic'd cabinet, you do with the XLR out from the Kemper. In my experience, PA systems and FRFR speakers vary a LOT, so some of the Kemper profiles may sound superb on one, but not so great on another system without a lot of EQing or even choosing different profiles. All that to say, as far as the Headrush, YMMV!
