It's one thing to idolize Toriyama, which is already silly since even in his prime, Toriyama still had _editors_ which massively influenced the overall flow and plot of his stories. Love it or hate it, the Cell saga is what it is because of Toriyama's editor input. Heck, the anime also had several scenes that _improved_ on Toriyama's original work, like future Trunks becoming a Super Saiyajin. It's another thing entirely to blindly trust a Toriyama that's already far beyond checkout out and not in the grind writing this stuff day in and day out.

It's a generational thing, I believe strongly. Gen Z, or whatever, tend to think everything made in their generation is best there is, and are quick to "culture cancel" anything from the previous generations. DBS to them is some Tolkien or Shakespeare type of masterpiece. They're hopeless, and I worry when they start having children...

Toriyama originally wanted DB to be a gag manga, it was his editors that told him to make DB more serious and suggested an Alien backstory for Piccolo&Goku. Without the editors, we wouldn't have 17,18 and Cell. Someone has to be there to tell toriyama *"NO"* whenever he comes up with a bad idea. If DB's editors blindly accepted whatever Toriyama came up with, then DBZ wouldn't even exist!

"Yes men" are detrimental in the entertainment and creative space. This translates to beyond DB. It's in the gaming industry, too. Any criticism is met with vitriol. You are supposed to just consume the product and say nothing.

GT gets too much hate, honestly I like it much better than DBS. And the general plot points, and lots of inspiration for character designs, and progression were given by Toriyama. So it's no surprise he's returning to making Goku a kid, it was his idea for the continuation after all. Personally og DB was my favorite of all the series. I hope the story returns to its roots as a gag manga. It was fun when it got serious for a few years, but returning to the core DB feeling would be an ideal send off. Personally I feel like DBS had done a lot of butchering of Goku's character. Maybe he has brain damage. Hopefully as a kid he'll return to learning lessons related to Buddhism, or just generally stories that teach morals in a light hearted environment.

Look on the bright side, you're one of the few than can call out everyone on their bullshit if they think it's good since you're one of the only advocates of GT. You and Saiyan Scholar. I'm cautiously optimistic about DBM, but ONLY because it's going to have new writers and some OG animators working on it. However, if it's trash, I'll be the first one to let everyone know exactly what's wrong with it. At least it can't get any worse than Super. That's the good news.

You know the Dragon Ball fandom will blindly accept anyting Toriyama makes good or bad even when he's way past his Prime and expired. They don't care as long as they're getting more Dragon Ball they're hungry for it. As for Dragon Ball Magic I heard it was canceled after 24 hours of being announced again don't know this is real or fake or it was real to begin with.

Tbh, this sounds like another kind of cash-in. We saw it with RoF, Goku Black, Broly, Super Hero, and now this 'Magic' (a subliminal word for evoking nostalgia) series which is basically GT Redux. It's literally just taking the same old ideas or old characters and repackaging it for another generation so they can make more money with very little effort spent on brainstorming original ideas. Will this be good? Probably not. And I'll give you an upfront reason. This is the regressed Clownku from Super, not the mature and goated GT Goku. So it doesn't matter if Nakatsuru is involved; this will be another kiddie ride with no brutality, no real stakes, and the writing will probably be garbage because it has been for years... but it still makes money so why change?

Me being an OG fan of Dragon Ball it doesn't surprise me anymore about how much the Dragon Ball fandom just left Acura Toriyama get away with everything doesn't question it instead they just eat whatever is on their plate as long as Akira Toriyama fixes it but honestly super has had GT Concepts in it all the time it's just that it was just ignored I need some of these fans just didn't see it but now it's even more pushed up into their faces because now this is the ultimate GT concept and Nod to GT I mean heck David Hughes Naruto Concepts and super they clearly ripped Madara Uchiha susanoo gave it to Goku yeah I can't think of any other anime or Manga that is more broken tears the fandom apart more than Dragon Ball I mean Acura Toriyama it's not perfect he messes up but if you don't call them out on it tell you're going to get as more boring original writing I mean honestly I was hoping they were going to leave GT overall wasn't that bad of a concept. But I mean honestly even Dragon Ball Z suffers somewhat from broken plots I main Dragon Ball all the way on up to the Frieza Saga was excellently done but things started sliding downhill from there I mean once Future Trunks showed up there was all these timelines and Alternate realities that were created. The cell Saga was fairly well even though it didn't hold a candle to the Frieza Saga it still was pretty good but overall the Majin Buu saga really was even lower on the totem pole then the cell Saga was. So when GT came out it had big shoes to fill if it were still bring back that nostalgia that the Frieza Saga had Granite the first Saga had some problems with it it quickly started picking up in the baby Vegeta saga then the Super 17 Saga honestly I just consider it another cell Saga because they both had Androids involved not that it was a bad Saga then there was The Saga that I thought was the best throughout Dragon Ball now it's the shadow dragons Saga. Because we all know that the Dragon Balls where you start nauseam to correct problems rather good or bad without any consequences whatsoever even Elder Kai Warren Goku and Vegeta that overuse in the Dragon Balls could lead the consequences Sotomayor the shadow dragons in GT showcase those consequences. However when super came out some OG fans that did not like Dragon Ball GT fractured the newer fans that we know of the day Akira Toriyama like GT even drew the character art it has many things to do with GT like promoting it and even through his own version of Super Saiyan 4 for the series and even went as far as to say that they could consider GT the official continuation of Z or Side Story. But over the years the official continuation of Z statement from Akira Toriyama OG fan two-headed GT as well as some of the fandom the up today that wanted to squash GT completely ignore this statement name giving GT the non-canon statement when actually GT is canon However super is canon but if this doesn't tie into the original framework of Dragon Ball the Majin Buu being in super it's one of those tall tale signs that automatically writes it out you can have a ride or creative Side Story turn alternate timeline because ever since the Frieza Saga ended there's been alternate timelines can skew off dimensions because Future Trunks is timeline was supposed to have been the main one but when trunks went back into time he created a fracture in the timeline Like in the Back to the Future are the flash reference you can go back into the past but if you do you fracture the timeline Barry Allen AKA The Flash was warned of this because he tried to save his mom's life exact same way that Future Trunks tried to save the future with balma his mom but there was no one there to give them the same information that Barry Allen was given so it led to multiple timelines and that's what Dragon Ball super is as well as Xenoverse your alternate timeline that have nothing to do with the original. So you see the same consequences and Dragon Ball also exist the same as they do in the flash or Back to the Future or heck even Quantum Leap she want to go to that old of a reference once a timeline is broken or shattered there is no repairing it because repairing one timeline just leads another one so to anyone who would suggest that the reason why Majin Buu exist in Dragon Ball super are the reason why Frieza eliminated pretty-much all the Saiyans because beardos was not involved in that because he did not exist in Dragon Ball original timeline however beerus did not exist when Kid Buu was going around killing the Supreme Kai's either because if he had he would have eliminated Kid Buu which Goku and Vegeta never would have faced him they would have only face cell Goku still would have been dead. But I would in this with here I have no doubt that with Dragon Ball Magic stealing Concepts from Dragon Ball GT it will be another fractured timeline alternate reality just like with Dragon Ball super is and it will probably be built on the same framework is super was which is absolutely horrible but those are my thoughts.

I dont know what fans you're listening to but all the fans that ive seen hate this new dragonball magic idea. Alot of fans are not falling for this. Including me i was a fan of Gt backnin thecdayvwhen i was a kid and as i gotten older and wanted to re-watch it i realized how unbearable it was to try and how dumb of an idea it was for them to turn Goku into a kid after we just seen him grow up. This is cherry picking. I've seen just as many people saying they hope the rumors are fake, which they likely are, and that Dragon Ball Magic is stupid. I've also seen a number of people who are "praising" the show hoping that it'll be a GT reboot, or as they call it "a good GT." You see, GT is not hated on because Toriyama isn't involved, it is hated on because it is the worst in the franchise regardless of overall quality, it's like the Arkham Origins or Boruto of the Dragon Ball franchise. What I'm getting from this is that you personally like GT, and narcissistically believe everyone else must to.
