FYI fellas CBCS will "raw grade" treasuries, they come back in a mylite and fullback with tamper-proof stickers and a sticker on the bottom right of the front mylite cover with the grade on it. 9.0 and higher treasuries seem to sell for a significant premium.

I am a millennial and appreciate you guys! I've been learning a lot and I also like that you guys seem to be inclusive and accepting. Comics should be for everyone regardless of race, gender, sex, or if you are LGBTQ+. I think there's something beautiful about being a member of a minority group and getting to see yourself represented as a hero. It's very powerful! Keep up the great work!

Hey gents! Hot take on Pedro… while I love him and think he’ll do a good job, it’s another casting in a line of “trendy” Marvel cast decisions that doesn’t necessarily hold up well over time. They did this with Kit Harrington when Game of Thrones was at it peak, and by the time he showed up in Eternals the buzz around him had fizzled considerably. Going for Pedro at his ultimate pinnacle point in pop culture feels like another maybe short-sited trend-chasing move, as awesome as he is.

Back in 1989, I bought a coverless FF #1 from a dealer in the weekly Comics Buyers Guide for $50; couple years later, a shop owner I worked for told me that paying $50 for a coverless comic was “stupid.” Two years ago, I finally splurged and bought a very nice facsimile cover for it and it looks like a NM copy! As for the villain of the new movie, I am hoping not for Doctor Doom, but Annihilus, who was prominent in the book when I started reading it in the 70s. Reed was stranded in The Negative Zone while Reed from Counter-Earth was leading the group (and turning into The Brute). You forgot to mention Elektra during Frank Miller’s DD run (and rectified it), but remember, Frank publicly admitted the entire concept behind her was stolen from Will Eisner and The Spirit/Sand Serif story! But the Miller DD run will forever be a high point in the character’s history.

Makes sense to set a Fantastic Four movie in the 1960s. Just as one would also set a movie about the Beatles in the '60s.

I actually did buy a pack of 100 treasury-size bags. I've used about 20 of them on actual treasury editions. They're also good for posters, such as some of the B&W prints Art Adams sells. Probably nice for smaller original art too. I have digest-size bags too, those would work for those bubble funnies... which are nifty, by the way.

I would religiously buy Marvel's Treasury Editions as they were issued, including walking 5 kilometres to and from a newsagency to buy the Incredible Hulk Treasury in 1975. And I share your gripe about Treasury bags and boards. The less said about Marvel's Conan series after their original run, the better. And the miniseries, even with Roy Thomas writing, were quite woeful too. Thank goodness for Kurt Busiek, Cary Nord and Dark Horse a few years later.

A local NYC street comic vendor I buy from regularly says he owns one of the two CGC 9.6 FF #1s. He claims Heritage Auctions has promised him the catalog cover when he sells it (which he says he is planning to).

Back in the mid 80s both marvel and DC were putting out miniseries week after week. Characters that seem to have fallen off or were seemingly less known got these four book issues. There was the falcon, magic, wolverine, and kitty pride, Aquaman, Superman, krypton, Hulk, man, etc.. as a teenager I looked forward to the new one every week. I would go to my local convenience store look at the spinner rack for any #1 issue I could find. I was so excited thinking I had the first appearance of these unusual, but often amazing characters. I guess I did OK with my long shot #1. However, I would gladly give back my amethyst #1. Today if I went into my long box from back, then I am sure I have two or three of those submariner series. I thought it was cool. Unfortunately, it was not marvel comics. #1. the true first appearance of the submariner. But it was a very fun time to collect books like this.

Those $14.99 magazines are not your normal weeklies or monthly those are usually special edition oversized tribute issues for Taylor Swift or a TV show anniversary like Happy Days. I was recently shocked to see that a regular People issue was $7.99 now! Not too far off though.

I don’t know how magazines stay around I used to collect them Death of a musician Tribute issue to a certain band But when I saw it was around $15 for the People Magazine for the Godfather 50th Anniversary I was like nah never mind I did buy one today but ya news in them gets so quickly outdated it’s very difficult to justify the price

Respectfully, they can't finance a "Falcon" movie, nobody cares (that much) about The Falcon (as a brand). So if we want diversity in the movies (and the comics) then we have to associate that diversity with proven, recognizable brands, at least as part of the overall efforts. Even if it doesn't work 100% of the time. If there had somehow been diversity in the original versions that people originally fell in love with, we wouldn't have to be doing all of these things now. Plus, ya'll are dogging Sam Wilson and praising Miles Morales - ?
