George is an microbial ecologist at Wageningen University and Research, exploring the relationships and value of micro organisms. Microbes dominate our planet, and his research is principally dedicated to uncovering what microorganisms do in the environment and how they respond to, and impact, global change. In addition, George looks at microorganisms as a potential source of new and useful products and activities.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
