Wow! This is the best lesson i have learnt today. I actually had no ideal it is possible to have the bike move on its own rev without adding power to it

It’s kinda weird because my bike dies when I try to be in the friction zone with no gas so I have to give it gas or else it just dies

I came from driving a manual car so I understand clutch control and all that fun stuff so it wasn’t an issue with me it was just my bike automatically dies with no gas in the friction zone

Just got home from doing a 1 hour session before doing my cbt on Friday. Never been on a motor bike so I'm completely green on this. Started me off on a push and go automatic which was fine but then went over to a manual and I really struggled with it. Could not get the concept of of applying throttle and finding the bite like he was showing me while maintaining the revs. Came home a little disheartened and looked around on you tube and found this. The way you just showed me just makes sense! Thankyou very much. Fingers now crossed for Frinday.

Wow this is something new to me. I was taught to t release clutch and give gas . Neve3r thought releasing clutch with no gas will make bike move. Going to try to change my way of starting off the bike. Always was afraid when in first gear releasing clutch than giving gas bike would stall or take off too quickly. Bike stalls after moving jerks and I loose balance. Still riding started at 45 years now 77 years old.
@Luggruff
@Luggruff Жыл бұрын
Same here. Doing my lessons right now and test tomorrow. Although, I suspect that giving gas is repeated so often because.. this particular bike will stall without gas. Have a few tests were I need to take off slowly, and keep creeping, and it's been far from the easiest thing just because I have to give some gas at the start, then let off it immediately and pull in the clutch to get down to the speed I need to be in - all within the space of the first meter /: Once I am moving though, there is no issue going at low speeds with clutch only. Edit: Passed without any marks!

I decided to get on KZfaq and watch some videos on this because I got my first bike a few days ago and I've been struggling with getting clean launches. I've yet to stall it but I've been pulling off some small wheelies. I believe it is a result of giving it too much power and letting off the clutch a little too quickly. I did my CBT a few weeks ago and I was taught to give it some throttle and letting off the clutch. In theory it works because I didn't wheelie once during the CBT. We were told to give it some throttle as we release the clutch rather than slowly releasing the clutch and giving it some throttle. When it stops raining and isn't wet I'll go and practice this so I can do better. Just wanted to say that I appreciate the clear explanation and demo because I watched about six other videos before this and while they're not bad by any means they certainly weren't as clear as this video was. Cheers.

So much so, I wanted to go try this out on my bike. ;) At my tick over/idle speed of 1,100rpm, I could attain a top speed of 43mph before I felt I needed to change up to second gear. ^^ I wish I had a riding instructor as informative as you are, back in the day, I would have learned so much more. ;) Looking forward to seeing your tutorial on (right hand) shoulder checks and (left hand) Life savers.

My first lesson on a bike was yesterday. My instructor told me to hold the revs at 3000 then release the clutch. He would tell me to give it more throttle so I did and Al while leaving the clutch slightly open. This prevented me from stalling (I only stalled once by releasing the clutch without using throttle).
