In todays Rocket league video, I go over the basics of the directional air roll mechanic/setting! I tell you how I learned air roll right/left in 2 days and mastered in in only a months time in Rocket league! Then, I show you the different types of spins you can acheive with directional air roll in Rocket League! Next, I give some basic tips on how to control your car better with air roll right/air roll left in Rocket League! Lastly, I give a training routine that myself as well as many other pros used as well! I also give a brief analysis on Zens directiopnal air roll technique and keybind settings that Zen uses in Rocket League! Hopefully you guys are able to learn directional air roll insanely fast in Rocket League too!!

After 1 month of CONTINUOUSLY practicing this..... I have Finally mastered it fully. This video is really helpful. The thing i gotta say is patience only... It will improve day by day but really hard to see changes in days cause the changes are really minor.

so i always flip to the right but already have like 100-200 hours on air roll left... I feel pretty good but i notice i am mostly not using the entire stick or at least prefer some locations more. The problem is eventho i got some control and hit most shots i feel like i am very far from mastering and also dont know how to learn to completely understand it when some movements just feel very unnatural... but i also dont want to switch to air roll right and rewrite my entire mind for it.

i would recommend finding what movements make you uncomfortable and taregt them in freeplay!

I was wondering should I learn air roll right if I have “mastered” air roll left. Like to make micro adjustments in the air with air roll right etc. I have air roll right bound so that’s why I’m asking😅. What do you think?

I wouldn’t, it would probably just mess you up! Stick with air roll left and just master it! Like I mastered air roll right because that’s the way I’m comfortable spinning and flipping so I don’t plan on learning air roll left

you just have to stop holding it once you flip then after you flip hold L2/directional air roll

@@RocketStory Thanks! After you press jump while driving back, you still need to hold L2 (backwards) to tilt the car backwards in order to actually backflip, right? Anyway, I'll give it a go when I'm home.

Not that I have noticed and zen is the best pro player and he uses it on his reverse button and many other pros have switched to it as well!

When you said you go pretty "in depth" with this video i kinda expected something else i must say ^^ A script and maybe some cuts could have helped this video a lot i think - it kinda felt like the things you pointed out could have been said in 7-8 minutes instead of 18 minutes and we were jumping from topic to topic whenever it came to your mind :D i will try this out definitely anyways! :b thanks for the tips!

Dude WTF i airdribbled my first directional airrole ball into the net o: it seems like ur video was really good anyways :D squishy couldnt do that for me back in the days ^^ i notice that one thing is giving me problems already - to get the feeling on when to let go of the airrole button. with regular airrol it was easy ... you could hold it alot longer than you needed it because it didnt do anything on its own when you dont use the stick along with it ... but now that changed :D

@@AppZ1337 that was tricky for me too but with more freeplay specifically you learn when to use it and when not to! just play with it and make yourself uncomfortable because thats when you learn the most!!

Yeah, I use L1 for free air roll and L2 for directional air roll!

Been using air roll right for about four years and i have never used air roll left properly and it just feels so weird to use it would it be worth it to learn left aswelll as using right?

I personally would just learn one directional air roll then use default air roll for correcting movements and air roll shots!

You shouldn’t only be using tornado spin, you need to constantly be moving your stick in different directions while holding directional air roll for the maximum amount of control!

I only use air roll right for the majority of things, then regular air roll for shooting and little adjustments!
