Cory, the Draupnir Spear is actually amazing. Try to invest your XP into its Skill Tree. It can be VERY OP, especially with the spear detonation. It’ll stagger enemies as each spear goes off, so it’s damage potential is off the charts.

The fog was such a good scene. I forgot that in Greek mythology there was a fog that was almost impossible to escape because it gives you visions . Those who couldn’t make it out lost their sense in the fog.

Don't sleep on Draupnir!! It gets much better and essentially replaces Kratos fists to build up enemies stun gauges. Also you can switch between weapons quickly, Draupnir is great to pull out after some axe combos.

Just getting fully caught up on this series while going through covid and I'm really enjoying it so far. Watching Cory play games is always a joy. Also since I just hit 1:07:25, I'll say that I really loved the spear the most out of the three weapons and it became the main one I relied on once I got it, once you get the hang of it's learning curve it's incredible.

i really like this Lady of the Forge section with how close it is to the lord of the rings, and it's so damn touching when kratos knelt and asked brok to bless the spear. reminds me of when aragorn knelt before the hobbits in return of the king, and iirc gandalf also said something about the nature of hobbits is something to appreciate/is something quite surprising despite their size.

Just realized that when she forged his weapon she formed his blood into the shape of his omega symbol then the symbol of Sparta ^ so it lined up nicely when Kratos says it's the first weapon a Spartan learns.

It's so cool to see how much Kratos has changed from the previous game😭 From the beginning you could tell how much more open and empathetic he had become, not just for Atreus but for pretty much everyone around him!

i would recommend using the spear as in combos MAJOR potential in getting further combo strike and ect. it feels as if everything went quiet when kratos said he's tired real sad to hear but after wards to see a quest thats says retire gives a giggle

I can't even tell you how grateful I am for this series, and the fact that they're over an hour long every time is just gold. You could make a 10-hour video and I wouldn't even get tired of him, that's how much of a 🐐 Cory is. This series is A tier.

I really like how we can see what goes through a parent and a child’s mind. It changes my view on how I see the relationship with parents and children. This is one amazing and powerful game.

1:10:33 From the *SECOND* Kratos closes the door to the *SECOND* he goes to sleep. It's ALL Emotions! _EASILY_ the best scene in the whole game so far! Seeing the GOD of WAR, One of the ANGRIEST video game characters actually seem sad and tired! No action, No dialog, Not even story telling! Just a man, Tired, Worried and moments from crying, Wondering what the hell has happened to his life.

If you didn't know, draupnir was a ring that sindri and brok made as a gift for odin, it would basically duplicate itself every few minutes so that explains why they needed a well inside the base to store it Little bit more information but it was actually part of a set of 3 gifts to odin from the dwarves as basically an offering, i cant remember the other 2 gifts so id recommended you search them up since norse mythology is really interesting especially if you want to understand gow ragnarok a little bit more

Once I unlocked the spear, it's the weapon I mained for the rest of the game. I ran a stun build and the spear could build up a crap ton of stun in no time. Loved it

Fun fact: Kratos is based on Cratos/Cratus from Greek mythology, and his name means power. Edit: I put the / there because I am getting different responses about his name some telling me Cratus and then others telling me Cratos.

I feel like this game did such a gorgeous job on writing Kratos (and the characters around him) so that even folk that are new to the series get an understanding of his character. I've never interacted with the God of War games. In fact, I ignored the God of War before this one because I thought it was just over hyped junk (started playing it recently and I realise how wrong I was). But the scene with Brok and the one where you could see just how heavy the journey ahead is weighing on Kratos. Those scenes were fantastic. Even without having interaction with the series, I could tell that this has to be a very different Kratos from previous entries. I can't exactly go into depth as to why but hearing the characters around speak of his past and who he was and the battles he fought already builds up an image and seeing these vulnerable moments of kindness come from an otherwise serious, 'black and white' view of the world character is something that clearly isn't the norm which makes it even more heartfelt. I won't ramble for too long. I just love to see good character writing and being able to enjoy these characters and feel for them without needing to have went through the series beforehand.

Only few will understand but when the scene between the Nordic fates and kratos with the dialog being distributed between everyone is very similar to how my acid trip was honestly quite scary
