This is my dream car. I've been saving my $ for years and I think I'll be in the market for an Abarth before Christmas! I'm obsessed, I literally had a dream last night that I was driving in the mountains in my Fiat Abarth! 🙏 I hope I can find a deal like you!

welcome to the abarth community. this car truly does deliver the most "smiles per mile" out of anything ive ever driven. now that you have one, im going to save you time and you can either trust me or just learn the hard way like i did...or perhaps miss out on it completely..the best tune for these is a Tork Tune--you need it (800 bucks). you dont even have to get mods for them to send you a proper tune. however, if you do get a few mods first it will make the tune even better. i have a 2016 abarth 500 with: alfa 4c coil pack, cold air intake (btw best ones are atm intakes for this car), gofast bits diverter valve, bov adapter plate, front mount intercooler (best well known one is once again atm fmic for this car--but if you can get a scara73 fmic thatd be beast)...i plan on getting a high flow cat downpipe next..most likely from ATP. other notes: always get NGK spark plugs every 30-35k miles..eurocompulsion has them pregapped at a smaller gap than OEM and it helps with a tune. replace the "multiair filter" every 60k miles. if that goes overlooked the car can start acting up. check your oil at first more often than normal--sometimes the older models would go through oil really quick! anyway, have fun man! (dont forget--i gave you the heads up...tork tune is the best thing you will ever do to the car)

I just got mine a 2013 and I absolutely love it doesn't have many mods other then cold air intake and magnaflow exhaust system but in time things will slowly change

Great video. I’ve had my ‘13 Abarth for 7 years now and you’ve described it almost as I would. It is a blast to drive. Over the seven years I have done some major modifications to the little beast that have have improved the suspension, brakes, and performance to over 200hp. What’s nice is the mods are not terribly expensive. You just got to be careful which vendor you deal with as some are more trustable than others. Now you need to bring your car to a Fiat On The Dragon event we have twice a year down in Eastern Tennessee. That where a group of us get together to push these cars through the twists and turns of amazing mountain roads. That’s where they really can strut their stuff. It is great to see how everyone mods their cars.

It's great that you were able to find one in your price range. Plus, it looks like it's in great shape. Awesome job on the back seat too. Dont worry about the audio system. Those can be changed anytime. Have fun!

Love mine, lowered, upgraded exhaust and a remap. 185bhp and 270lbft, not the fastest but so much fun! It’s so easy to upgrade these on the Tjet but I believe the you guys get the multiair so not sure of the difference. Apparently they higher seating position was deliberate to make you feel like you’re driving a bigger car. You can get lowering brackets for the seats too I think.

I found that a Gopedal made it even more fun, along with the Stage 5 from Madness. Man I miss that car!

Rear seats can be useful for an emergency lift across town, especially for some buddies after a party, but definitely nothing too long. But love what you did .. some useful space out the back.

Sweet. I have a 2012 Abarth 500.. tons of fun and gets me to work and back cheep.... also once you get used to the driving position its more fun... sitting upright you get thrown around a bit more.

Fun review, I dig it. A couple questions. I’m in the process of buying a 2013 Abarth. It has 17” alloy OEM wheels with Hancook Vetus V2 (all weather) tires. I’m curious, what are your thoughts regarding tires and winter driving in this car? Fortunately work is close to home for me, so my daily commute is just a 10-15 drive. However we’ve had some bad winters here in the Midwest over the past few years, bad road conditions anyway. I’ve watched several reviews and it seems the Abarth handles not too bad in snowy weather. I’m a little nervous about the low suspension/profile, wheels and snow. What are your thoughts?

I bought an Abarth in 2019 for the same reasons you did. Fun and inexpensive. Unfortunately 6 months later I had so many problems I ended up buying another car. But I did keep the Abarth. Is my middle age crisis sports car. Plus nobody will buy anyways. I still I have a few problems but I don't drive even 2000 miles per year. Maybe some day will be worth something. For now I drive to the beach only. BTW, my other car is a 2020 Tesla Model 3.

With about $20 you can get the 0- to 60 down to below 7 seconds , mine has 225 Hp and it’s 0 to 60 is in the mid to high 5s that is pretty damn quick fir a little car , but you’re right , it’s a blast , and I’ve Ferraris and Porsches in my younger days . Have fun and enjoy it .

How reliable do you think this car will be for delivery driving?

I have no idea what you guys are talking about with the auto trans. I have a 2015 auto Abarth and not only does it have 6 speeds instead of the 5 that you find in the manual. But i've had ZERO problems as opposed to some of my peers with manuals that have had trouble time and time again. The auto is a GREAT option for the Abarth!!

What do you want to see us do with the Abarth 500?

My engine swapped 92 prelude went like stink, but the “2+2” seating was more like 2+1 seating hahaha.

Two things to tell you: 1) you're going to want to tune it 2) you better switch to an FMIC before you do.

(edit just watched to the end. I live in a loft in a "commercial district, and believe me, this car is PERFECT for the scenario that you described)

That “3 + 1 seating” is such a janky “excuse” to justify something since they made 3 wheel cars to justify calling them motorcycles in England. It’s the “little things like that” that I now like to listen to about my Abarth this Summer, haha

A positively negative review hashing over all the 'hated' things a FIAT has ... does not need to be restated over and over and over again. Those issues disappear as soon as you get behind the wheel, start the engine, locate the first gear 'notch' and your left foot picks up off the floor ... you're in smile mode now. I have a 2013 Turbo. 135 HP 150 #ft of torque; essentially an ABARTH set up in all other aspects. Smiles included (I would have easily won that race ... I do every chance I get). I would advise the 'son' to seek out your local Alpha FIAT Club, and become a member. You'll be glad you did ...
