This is the best summation of the 500e on you tube. The only thing I would add is how pissed people get when you kick the crap out of them at a light because they are insulted by the fact that they were beaten by a Fiat. I put 17X7 light Sparcos with Michelin Pilot Sports and the car handles like a beast. Biggest critique is range.

I purchased a '16 with a sunroof. I resent my trip odometer every day on my Accord and realized I could let it go. Drove 60 miles a day to work and few miles afterward. Worked for me in the winter here in Chicago. I charge with 120v at my condo parking space and electric is included in my assessment..Best Car Ever!

Mine was $8K in 2018, the price has gone up from that, in S. California. Freeway range is more like 50-55 mi. I agree hills really eat energy & you don't recover much on the downhill. Custom wheels cut your range. I wouldn't lower it, the front lip scrapes at stock height. It can fit an 8-ft board. The trunk organizer that holds the charger can be removed, 4 bolts, gives you more cargo space.

dont forget to get your dog friend a harness so he doesnt fly when you brake hard or crash. safety first

Our first EV car. It's a great car, looks great, fun to drive. It's good for taking kids to/from schools, grocery shopping/errands. We finally let it go a few weeks ago as it was a lease. Unfortunately this model is no longer available here. The 2022 model looks even better imo, with a lot more range and features. Would have bought one if they brought them here.

Same here...tired of seeing cross over evs. I can't wait to see smaller hot hatches or even a 2 seater sports car that's under 30k and with decent range.

I got my 2014 about six years ago in Texas for not much more than the price mentioned in the title of this video. I have no idea why the dealership down here was selling them so cheaply, but it has been an amazing car and a wonderful bargain. I can’t recommend them enough if they can still be picked up for these super cheap prices.

I just bought a 2015 fiat 500e like 3months ago I love it fun to drive and I save a lot of money on not paying for gas and I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe I love it too but my fiat is way better driving around town but when I have to drive far I take my jeep 4xe But the fiat 500e is the best and cheapest EV car you can buy and I been seeing alot of people buying these lil cars 🚗

I saw these for about 5-7k before pandemic, i should have bought one for a daily commuter.

Pretty cool! I grabbed something a bit more boring to drive but super fuel efficient 2020 prius prime. Got bored of the fuel efficient non grippy tires and put on some Firehawk indy500 on 18x7.5 work wheels. Icing on the cake is bringing my charger to work and using their electricity to charge. I've saved so much money in the past year and half.

It’s April 2022 and the cheapest 500e is a 2013 with over 60k miles for $9500! Wow!

You're right. It's more for city and commuting that the EV cars come into their own. No need for all the unnecessary power and such. When they sort out battery range etc then longer traveling will be great. But at the moment city driving is the main use of the EV.

Hey! I recently reviewed the 2022 Fiat 500e in my channel! I must say that whilst its true EVs are mainly for the city, its also a question of price! A brand new Fiat 500e is like 30k here in Belgium, which is too much if you compare to models competing in that price (like a VW Golf)! But amazing video! I am surprised you have a taste for the Fiat 500e! I always thought in North America is was all about massive engines, cruising and innovative techs! Greetings from Belgium!

I considered one of these about 5 years ago. The deal breaker is range. 50, 55 miles (then about 20 reserve miles) and you are out of fuel. Wish they would have built this with something a bit over 100 mile range and it would have worked for our situation. The '24 model has a claimed 165 mile range. That'll be much more practical... now if you could buy one for under $30k. Ain't happenin'.

I plan to use solar panels to charge an Ecoflow Delta 2 solar generator. Charge it during the day and charge the car in the morning. I'll leave it plugged in, so the scheduler can do it everyday. I expect 4 miles a day per kilowatt.

I put a tank of gas in my truck once every two month, 4 months for my BMW Z3M and 3-4 month on my Honda motorcycle. I would drive that since 1 day a week is my long drive days leaving town. Prices are higher now, but there is a $4,000 Federal Tax Credit now. Expect to buy a 2017 Fiat 500e with sport edition and 19,000 miles for $11,000 tomorrow. It is a California car and it costs $1200 to ship to Philly.

Good review. I’d recommend a seatbelt for your dig friend. It’s a harness that attaches to the seatbelt in the car and will stop your dog getting brain damage, broken limbs or a smashed in skull. Just saying.

I’m building a new home myself, and the commute is 39 miles from my current house. It’s all highway, and I can plug in using a normal outlet while working on the house say for 6-8 hours. Would that commute be possible with one of these? Also, if I’m charging all day, and then would have to charge at night. Is that really bad for it?

People are driving illegally at 88, that’s nuts! I’m considering a 2018 my friend has with 14,000 miles. I’ll need to figure out if I’ll save a lot. I drive 3700 miles a year. I spend $70 a year on an oil change. My 15 manual Scion XB has 47k miles on it. I could sell it for approximately $13000. If I can buy his for $6500 range? Maybe I should consider it, but I don’t see a huge savings in maintenance gas with my total driving. I have a VW Cabrio I dr about 900 mikes in summer (short in PNW) and a 92 GTI 16v I have owners since 98, and just can’t give it up. I doubt I fill it more than 4 times a year. I guess I would sell the convertible, since the 500e has a SR. But boy do I love it in summer. Granted, I might not care as much because I’d live driving the 500e so much and living not paying for gas! It would lead me to dump more cars…

I recently picked up a Spark EV. Has something like 400 ft. lbs of torque. Poor modified Nissan 350Z got his doors blown off by me haha. I don't miss buying gas and "convenience" of gas. I charge everyday same way I charge my cell phone. 77 miles per full charge.

What rims and tires are you using? Did you need to do anything fancy to get the rims to fit? If I remember correctly, the bolt pattern on these cars is 4x98 so putting on 4x100 rims takes a bit more effort. I forget what the normal offset is though. Thanks

I just bought a 2017 Fiat 500e. It is in California, but I am in Pennsylvania waiting a week for delivery. My question is about the size of the roof. I thought of getting a flexible BougeRV CIGS 100W solar panel that lays flat on the roof to recharge an EcoFlow Delta 2 1000wHr solar generator and then schedule to recharge my 500e early in the morning. I don't drive much and can't plug in at home. Would a 44" x 35" panel fit on the roof? I guess only one 100W could fit. The wires would enter at the back hatch and the J 1772 charger would come out of the passenger side window. Does my idea seem plausible? It might offset preheating the car battery in cold weather.

Dumb question. What about tire rotations? Don't you still need to rotate tires every 5000 miles? As someone that needs a vehicle for a 100 mile round trip commute, (and can only charge at work ideally), is this a vehicle that makes sense? I've been looking at a miata, but as I'll need to do 2000 miles A MONTH, fuel is still expensive for it (out of my monthly budget).

Are these actually $5000 or are there strings attached. Because just the materials that's more than that. Are you restricted by location, are they tracking your location, can they remotely disable the vehicle, If you're speeding will they contact the local police and send you a fine, do they have a proprietary charger, are you able to modify the vehicle, can you repair the vehicle yourself? Tons of questions and are important to me because it's still higher than I've paid to outright buy each of the vehicles I've bought in the past including what I currently have today. Range would be an issue for me which is a shame. I visit my parents a few times a year and that's a 100 mile trip one way. But work (if they ever open the office up again) is within this range.
