the origin of trading was barter system which started from Nomadic times. Slowly the system of commodity money came and then representative money took its place. Finally the gold standards was ditched by the whole world and now world runs on FIAT currency. Watch video to learn more.

It could lead to inflation in their country , but practically they can print a lot of money to pay their debt and for import and export while other countries can't print without reserve of foreign currency for import and export
