How to fix "The File iTunes Library.itl Cannot Be Read Because It Was Created by a Newer Version of iTunes" Error.
Hi, in this video, we'll be showing you how to fix the error message "The file iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes."
If you're seeing this error, it means that the version of iTunes that you are currently using is older than the version that was used to create the iTunes Library file. To fix this error, you'll need to delete or rename the iTunes Library.itl file and update iTunes to the latest version.
Here's how to do it on a Mac:
Close the iTunes error message window.
Go to the iTunes Library file location: open the Music folder, then the iTunes folder. Inside the iTunes folder, you'll see the iTunes Library file with a .itl extension.
Delete or rename the file. We recommend renaming the file (e.g. "iTunes Library Backup") in case of any problems, as you can easily go back to the backup file if needed.
Restart iTunes. You should no longer see the iTunes Library.itl error.
To fix this problem on a Windows computer, follow the same steps as above.
To update iTunes to the latest version on a Mac, go to the App Store and check for updates, or download the latest version from the iTunes website. On a Windows computer, choose Help - Check for Updates in iTunes, or download the latest version from the iTunes website.

the problem for me is, THE FILE DOESNT EVEN EXIST ON ANY OF MY DRIVES!!! i just installed the newest version of itunes after deleting my old one and it tells this error. Why. Why? i dont know, that file doesnt exist on my entire C drive. or D drive. so how is this a thing?
