Everything went so quickly with my mom. It was all pre-planned to exactly what my mom wanted because she was so very thoughtful of my brother and I and wanted to make sure it was less traumatic for us. The funeral home picked her up from her home and we had her remains in a week. Those at the funeral home were so very respectful and helpful. We don't do funerals in my family. I respect everyone wishes but to have a funeral would seem so traumatic to me. Thing is I have 3 beautiful vases in my living room. My Dad, Mom, and Sister. Im so glad my family had a great sense of humor! 😂 Love you ladies ❤

Hi, I just wanted to say a big thank you I you both ladies & Tim. I have a fear of death & the process that takes place after but at the same time curiosity. My brother is a funeral director. But dealing with near to death issues myself on a couple of occasions or dealing with it with family or people I care for as my job who have passed. On these occasions the fear of the unknown stir me up, I’ve had counciling because of my fear for death, and had experience in my brothers place. And actually researching & finding out more does help me understand the process. I really enjoyed working with mortician to address my fears. So recently came across your videos which have really really helped me with understanding. As a anxious person anyway it has calmed my anxiety with watching your videos. Within last few days I had a elderly die suddenly on me, so coroner ordered a autopsy. Again anxiety hit the roof as it’s the unknown. Again curiosity lead me to watch videos to explain how it happens, ( did turn green after first watch) but then the biology side of things I found fascinating. Same with cremation process, watched your series of videos I do feel better as I know the process. Not quite there if it’s someone I know on slab or being cremated. But THANK YOU so much. Have subscribed will continue to take therapy from your videos.

Please let us know if there is anything specific you need to know. Thanks for watching xx

Delighted to see your reply. Yes I know lol, but it’s helped learning from you both the process. Probably forcing myself to get into the nitty gritty of it to get answers. Counciling for me help me with dealing with trauma of losing my friend in car accident & managing my anxiety triggered by the unknown of death. Even helped my hubby, telling him bits, again a topic he avoided, but since me watching you has admitted it fascinating once the fear of unknown is gone.what a absolutely wonderful caring heart you have Tracey to do the job you do.

I was slightly disappointed not to see the cremation process mentioned at the start of this final segment. I like Tim's ethics and attitude he seems very progressive. Water, waste recycling , solar panels and using low wattage bulbs a great idea! It was interesting to hear about deepening the graves there. I don't think we do that here in the UK. Cettainly in the grave my mum is in the family bought it. It has 3 bodies plus my Grandmother's ashes in it. I know a Father & Son who are grave diggers. The son does all the graves in the local church and has a small digger. The Father does the graves in most of the surrounding graveyards where no machines are allowed so everything has to be done by hand. Well thankfully the weather is glorious today (they had snow in parts of Manchester yesterday) so the barbie and brick pizza oven are getting fired up this afternoon for my Son's birthday. He's getting My Father and Grandfather's service medals from WW1 and WW2. I got copies of their service records some letters they wrote to their Mothers and some photos of them. Put them in 2 albums for him. We also got him a deactivated .303 Lee Enfield service rifledated 1943 and had it altered to look like a rifle issued to snipers. He'll be the envy of his re-enactment group! Yesterday my Daughter-in-Law drove my cousin's restored e-type jaguar and was so excited! I can't wait to see her face in August when she gets her Triumph! We do have a sneaky snitch in the family. Sam my cousin's 13 year old Geand Daughter who can't keep a secret and knows about the car we are restoring for my Daughter-in-Law. So far a combination of bribery, threats and distraction have kept the secret a secret😊. Tristan & Catriona are walking the dogs I'm cooking breakfast for when they get back. I'll show them a couple of your videos later and see if I can't get you 2 new subscribers😉

@@Areyoudyingtoknow Hi The weather changed a bit by yesterday afternoon we had a little bit of rain but the family gathering went ahead so Tristan had a good day😊. I showed Tris & Cat the video where Tracy got excited about the pubs in Durham when you told the story about the executed inmates having to be moved and the video of Tracy doing the make up on your runner friend. They know about your chanel so if they end up subscribing that will be TWO meat pies you owe me for the "referral fee".😁. I mentioned the grave diggers after Tim talked about opening graves. Chris (The son is paid a wage by the Council) Ian (The father) gets paid by the funeral director for each grave he digs. He drinks in my local pub. When you think about it grave diggers and crematorium operators are essential to the death care process but it"s like they are invisible. Whe you attend a burial the grave is open neat the last one I went to the sides were draped in astro turf so you didn't see soil and the soil they temoved was covered by a green tarpaulin. They wait till the mourners leave then quietly fill in the grave. Ian told us about one young lad who used to help him. He uses a long metal pole to feel for previously buried coffins. The young lad was in the grave his foot went through the coffin lid and that was his career as a grave diggers assistant over! It's chanels like yours that give us a full insight into the complete process when someone passes! The funeral director is in the spotlight but people like Tracy Tim Ian & Chris and the work they do is amazing!

@@Areyoudyingtoknow I admit to being partial to a nice meat pie or indeed a veggie version😁 so it's a deal! It's interesting to learn about end of life care and the dedicated professionals who provide it. I just heard a story about a group of "people" operating at the opposite end of the spectrum. The grave of Captain Sir Tom Moore has been vandalised. Flowers and plants uprooted graffiti and some mementos smashed shameful!! Strange world we live in. We watched a rerun of some of the Combat Dealers episodes while my son was staying. In one epiosde they were visiting Arnhem and went to a military cemetery where the envountered a elderly lady laying flowers at the grave of a British Paratrooper who was 23 when he was killed. They asked if she was family. "No I'm one of the flower children" and explained she had been attending the same grave regularly since she was 11 years old! I have a joke you can pass onto Trish as she's a dog lover. A guy went to a zoo paid a tenner to go in. All the enclosures were empty ecxept for one. In there was a small scruffy dog. Telling his wife back at home how disappointed he was. She said "Yep it must have been a shitzu" 😉

Just finished this series. I like Tim, you could do a trio channel. The one who's interested, the one who prepares and the one who 'finishes'. Joking aside, talking of cremations, as is the case here, my father went for a direct cremation: we thought it would be up the road (crematorium nearby), they said it would be. For those in the UK, we live in Essex and he was taken to Oxfordshire. And, as I'm here, my mind picks up on things. When I went to France on holiday I saw a gravestone that had a 'call this number to renew' sign. It made me sad. To the point (call me weird) that a little along the path there was a lonely plastic flower. I picked it up and placed it on the aforementioned grave: like me saying 'they' weren't forgotten.

So sorry to hear you have lost your mum 😞 I have never heard of a wax cast before but I believe it will be similar to what I do in wrapping the arm. Hey George, how's it going? I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are asking, but coffins here in Oz primarily go directly in the ground. They can go in vaults and crypts, but the person must be embalmed for this to happen. When Tim is talking about exhumation, he's talking about getting into the ground and digging. Does that clarify? I was told recently by a funeral director that you don't get all your loved ones remains in a privately owned crematorium. This distressed me because my dad was cremated in a privately owned crematorium and it haunts me daily. Is this true???
@Areyoudyingtoknow
@Areyoudyingtoknow 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah, I would say no this is not true. When a body is cremated you can only get one body in the chamber at a time. Once the cremation has finished all of the ashes are pulled into a container under the chamber. A large scraper is used to do this however there will be very small amounts of residue left in the champers right in the corners ( this happens on all chambers). The ashes are then transfered to a grinding machine (looks a bit like a front loader washing machine) this had large concrete ball-bearing in to crush up any large pieces of bone. Then this is all transfered in to the final cremation urn. So once one body is cleared from the cremation chamber it has to be re-set for the next body. I hope that all made sense 🙂 I have been to many crematoriums in my career lots of them privately owned and only ever see them do one body at a time and the ashes are definitely just that person's ashes. I think you truly have all your dad with you 💚💚
