This breaks my heart. A piece of me died when H3 shutdown. It was like learning my highschool girlfriend died in a car crash. To Reach players: sorry for your loss, boys.

Back when you could talk to others online. When there was friendly and unfriendly interaction, but at the end of the day a shared understanding and respect for one another. It was fun. And I’m happy to have grown up in those days instead of how it is now. It truly is an end of an era.

I stayed up until 2 in the morning playing Halo 3 on the final day of the servers. Waking up the next morning and seeing the post that the servers were gone brought a tear to my eye.

I still remember how excited I was seeing the first game informer mag for Reach as a child. Then I played the Invasion Beta for hours as soon as it launched. And still nothing could have prepared me for how many amazing moments I shared in forge, customs, and multiplayer.

Enough to make a grown man cry, man.

Reach was the only Halo game I was good at. It taught me the Recon layout and had no Universal Zoom and Shoot. I quickly adapted and had the most fun I've had in years when I returned to play it after so many years, hearing the servers were shutting down. I forgot how good the campaign was, how intense the multiplayer was, and how fun firefight and forge were. I miss Halo and would do anything to just fucking listen to my older brother and play the game with him. I didn't like it before because he was better than me at it and always won, but now, I wish I would've gotten better at the other games before they disappeared. Spartans never die, they just go missing in action.

At the time I wasn’t aware why everyone was acting all friendly and not being their toxic selves. I miss the 360 days

Once again, we witness the fall of Reach, but hope is not lost; for Spartans never die.

this game gave me some of my best memories ever, and i bonded with some of my best friends through reach as well. the 360 era will be sorely missed.

No other game can ever make me relive the joy and give me tears the way Reach did.

This was my childhood. The sounds, the music, the colors. They all bring me back to middle school. Playing this game for literally 18 hours straight with my friends, having massive clan wars, grinding credits to get the ghost helmet. To some degree, I thank God for the memories this game gave me.

I missed the shutdown of 3 and Reach but, I can proudly say I made it to the end of Halo 2. The emotions and the energy of the final moments will always linger whenever a cherished game is shut down. 💙

Oh man guys, Halo Reach on XBOX 360 was my childhood on Friday nights from when I was 7-11. Now that I've grown up other things in life have become much more important, but this right here, this makes me feel.

Halo Reach messing around in Forge World, Trials Evolution and Mass Effect 3 were my childhood. What an amazing era!

I loved this game, I still love this game. This was my first multiplayer online experience, and to simply put it. It started my true love for video games, I made a lot of friends playing this masterpiece of a game some I am still friends with today. Halo Reach was a pivotal moment in my life and I’m happy I was able to experience this in its prime. Sad it’s no longer on 360 but will live on in the MCC which I hope stays alive for a long time so the next generation can experience this phenomenon once more. Thank you Halo Reach. I was a huge fan of the series since Halo 1 (like i originally thought "why the hell would i ever want an Xbox?", until i played Halo at a friend's house and was immediately like _"I MUST HAVE THIS!"_ lol), but Reach was always my favorite of them all. Absolutely amazing game.

Why was this so wholesome and depressing. I could actually cry, I only ever owned halo 2, 3 and infinite/MCC so I never played reach in its prime, but I remember everyoneeeee enjoying the hell out of it. Sad day

I remember getting a GameStop gift card in my Easter basket 10 years ago. Bought halo reach and halo wars 1 on the 360 with it. All i can say is that it was fun while it lasted. Used to stay up all night during the summers off school and play multiplayer. I was 5 when i bought them, now I'm 16 and in highschool. Time flies fast

This is giving me PTSD from when they took down the Halo 2 servers. That game came out my junior year of high school and it's still the most fun I've had playing anything online. You kind of have it still with MCC, but it really does feel like a little piece of you gets taken away when those servers get taken offline. I'd give anything to go back to a night of just playing Halo 2 with all my friends again. You always have those memories, but memories start to fade...

Noble 6 was the last Spartan to be on Reachs Servers, all others gone… he stood there alone on one of the BTB Maps watching the horizon with his last thoughts… “There’ll be Another Time…”

Halo was such a magic moment in time. You truly had to be there to really appreciate what those games did. Looking back on it now, there isn’t a single online game that has that kind of community today. Back then people just wanted to have fun.

I didn’t want to cry today. As soon as I heard the music, my smile turned upside down and my childhood flashed before my eyes.

This was strangely emotional. Everyone there may well have massacred each other hundreds of times over the years, like at the end there, but that moment of peace. A fitting end to the Servers of Reach.

I love how the voice comm sounds exactly how I remember it back in the day. Somehow the voices sound exactly like the same people I used to hear in online lobbies too.

Man Reach was my first Halo and I'm going to miss the real Reach so much....
