The Final West Ealing to West Ruislip Parliamentary Train!
Wednesday 7th December 2022 saw the final Chiltern Railways train from West Ealing to West Ruislip which was worked by 165037.
At West Ealing we see 165128 with the Great Western Railway service to Greenford and 66794 on a tanker train to Colnebrook.
We then enjoy the ride onboard 165037 to West Ruislip which was delayed by 1/2 hour due to a trespasser on the Chiltern Main Line in the Denham area.

Brings back lovely memories when I was a little girl and used to use this railway to visit my Nan and family. Infact the train from West Ealing to West Ruislip goes right past a house that my Nan used to live in. 🥰🧡

It's a bit sad that the platform was more crowded than ever on the Ghost Train's last day; and a shame that the route didn't have more support to keep it running. I suppose that this was inevitable though, given the way it was operated. I really enjoyed your narrative and own personal connection to this last run, Henry. Very well done!

I was there! I got up at 3.30am to travel up from Herefordshire, as I had never been on the south to west curve at Greenford, and didn't know about the Ghost Train until a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for posting the video.

Misspent a lot a lot of my youth on Jacobs Ladder at West Ealing, and travelling to South Greenford Halt to the School playing fields. Can't believe how much the area has changed in the last 60 years !!

@@HenrysAdventures It was much more rural and the Greenford branch train was from Ealing Broadway and initially a steam auto train with usually a 14XX or occasionally either 5410 or 5420. The up relief platform was the east side of the road bridge, and the CO-OP milk depot where the bay platform now is. The south side of the main lines was a coal yard !!! Great memores

So that's it Chiltern Railways will not operate a "Parlamentary service" from West Ealing to West Ruislip. Instead you have to use GWR to Greenford then use the Central Line to West Ruislip to continue your journey northwards. ☹😢

Yes it you want to go by train. There will be a Parliamentary bus service to replace this train from next week.
