Another note. Your feelings about sword is how I felt about dagger. Nobody did step tech. But they removed it. It wasn’t meta but it was removed. It killed the skill ceiling for it and boy was it high. I had ways of making it a guaranteed kill. I had ways of dashing around corners through walls and hitting someone and flying away from them in one motion. I practiced that weapon for 2 months to get where I was at. Just for them to remove it and “fix” it and everyone’s all “oh it’s better than ever now” like stfu. No it’s not. It never will be until they return it back to pre 2.6 values. Even the menu animations for it suck now. Sword too. We used to hold it with PRIDE. Now we look like we’re trying too hard to look cool. Dagger just looks weak af and both are objectively not as intimidating as they were pre 2.6. I’m so tired of things getting nerfed all the time. Tell the fans of your game to grow tf up and learn how to counter people instead of bending to their whining and bringing talented or determined players down to their level. Just like dude from incredibles said “when everybody’s super, nobody will be”

Gadget canceling is an exploit and I dont enjoy having to resort to abuse exploits in order to make the most out of anything. The fair compromise is to shave off some recovery time for the sword attacks tbh. The whole skill ceiling thing is just dumb tbh. Performance and skill should be tied to intended mechanics, not some voodoo magic whose knowledge is also barred behind people in the know aka 1% of players

Damn, and I just learned the weapon swapping mechanic with the sword lol. Anyway, I've been playing sword during season 2 and I made it worked without tricks in casual gamemodes. I think the best way to make the sword work is the positioning and learn how other weapons work, specially the melee ones.

crazy how people (like ottr) are crying for phantom striking to be remove from the game... sword is so much harder now and they want one of the hardest things removed?? i feel like not a single person who is complaining about phantom strikes has ACTUALLY been killed by a phantom strike, its super easy to counter as well since dashing or sliding during a phantom strike is SUPER difficult and i havent seen a clip of anyone but me being able to do that against actual people, not just practise range bots. EDIT: gadget swap as well? another skilled thing that requires you to think about which gadgets to use, when to use, which ones you have, which slots to put them in etc, and it only makes it slightly faster... crazy how so many people cry about being outskilled, the finger dexterity for pulling it off as well is insane, combined with every other tight and precise timing, aiming, EVERYTHING but nah

Would be cool if the sword lunge had a lower reset time if you hit someone. That would keep some of the skill ceiling and wouldn't rely on janky mechanics. That being said, after the S3 reveal I don't think embark cares about competitive players at all...

I don’t know why you have to rely on an exploit (gadget swapping) to have fun. Its buggy and unfair and not really possible on controller. Im also a sword main btw.

They hate medium class that’s why lights and heavy’s got two things but medium gets one. A new ability would be nice for medium something to help close gaps just my opinion. Lights seem to be favored more than anything

Season 3 messed everything up so much I'm not sure If I want to keep playing anymore. Removing ranked cashout sucks. Heavy got stronger but light is still weak. HHM will probably still be meta in cashout and HHHHH will probably be meta in TA. This is probably the most stale state the game will be in and it's sad.

It raises the skill ceiling of the sword not lowers it. It's great to see exploits be removed from the game, will help people who are actually good at using it as intended get less hate. I got to diamond 3 with no exploits sword only.

embark keeps trying to make the game casual oriented, this is so pointless. you were top 1 sword user i have not seen anyone better than you and they nerf you. i honestly don’t understand what embark is trying to achieve and this is starting to really get annoying. i loved this game since the first glance but why do they keep doing these decisions, i feel like at some point we will just have enough of this bs and leave the game, they have to stop doing this
