Awesome place. I love South Florida. Too expensive for me. Florida is so darn popular. No state taxes. Warm and mostly sunny. But I’ve made our life in Colorado. I can honestly say that these winters are truly spectacular.

I knew it before DesignSource remodel Owner was Mr. Joe Fisher I worked for him 2 years. Put 24 sheets of 3/4 ply in the attic over the mechanicals thru the trusses for a catwalk in July. 120° plus. Design Source cut that entire roof system off that approximately 5000+ square foot house. It is built to 180 mph code Loved Mr Joe

Many homes of this magnitude in Florida are built to be hurricane resistant. Many of them are also secondary vacation homes for the wealthy.

People who have that kind of lifestyle would simply rebuilt it. Naples, FL (Port Royal) one home sold for $58M. Naples was hit real bad by Hurricane last season. I was just there this past weekend. The rich areas don’t look like anything happened. The moderately rich areas are rebuilding.

These are my clients, generally speaking. I design their houses in the Keys. I'll be discrete for professional reasons. These are CFOs, CEOs, and the like. We adhere to all local muncipal and state codes for HVHZ, and impact resistance, including wind and uplift, break-away walls, etc. I'm good acquaintances with these owners. The houses are occupied, at best, 2-3 weeks per year and are almost always not permanent residences. Security here is top notch. I can attest they're built for 180-MPH winds.

Beautiful home. But, I highly doubt you can get that home insured and if you do get insured at quadruple the rates, good luck getting paid out. And each hurricane that comes through the insurance industry is only going to get worse and don't hold your breath if you think DeSantis is going to do anything about it. It's strange that with all of these florida real-estate channels nobody is mentioning this fact.

I agree. Glaring white walls accented by black wrought iron and and what would otherwise have been beautiful dark wood trim, conflicts. It has no warmth or charm. It is harsh. I like the structure of the house but whoever selected the colors and decor is a psychopath. As presented, the interior at least, is neither friendly nor attractive. A souless Sheldon Cooper would like it. I do not. Cut the price down to 12 million because the other six million will be needed to redecorate.

Oh, and did I mention the ugly white cabinetry? It is such a beautiful house otherwise. Fix it! But Yabba Dabba Dooo on the exterior grounds!!! Beautiful. I can put up with glossy white exterior and walls and roof to reflect the oppressive sunshine (I understand. I do live here.), so that is reasonable. Please, just use some sense. It is a great house otherwise.

Actually the house was sold November of 2020 for just under ten point five million. The current owner has not done a single thing to the house and is now trying to sell it for almost an 8 million dollar profit which is stupid and will never get it in today's market.

A GC needs to buy it and pattern the inside like happy island brightness, self insure it and fix storm damage yourself, buy all the houses around it and make a golf course, convert the fish tank into a lobster holding tank, run for mayor and eliminate property taxes for the keys. Install a helicopter pad. Then the value would be $8,000,000
