It's time for Tears of the Kingdom's ultimate challenge run - can I beat the entire game WITHOUT DYING? If I die, we start all over again.
Today we're racing through the Fire Temple and showing that it really isn't that bad.

I'll say what confused me was all the extra architecture and the fire effect on the screen. I am more into the calm dungeons like the Zora(Water?) Temple. I was really glad to use the hydrant, though.

I'll come out and say it. I am terrible at playing Zelda games because I can't solve dungeon puzzles. It took me a couple of actual days to beat the Water Temple in Twilight Princess. I'm more into collecting things and making good weapons/character builds. However, I believe the complaint about the Fire Temple stems from its differences from the other 3 dungeons, which are more linear and don't have any extra stuff(minus the Water Temple).

I agree. The fire temple happens to be my favorite dungeon in TOTK because the vibe and puzzles remind me of dungeons in old legend of Zelda games

1:54 The minecart saved in autobuild is a metal one from Goron city, the one you are trying to use to make the minecart is a stone one from the depths.

I thought it was just a Fire Temple thing since I've never even used minecarts in the depths. I am a depths man, and one of the first things I did was max out the depths gear. Flying devices are by far the more useful ones, but land vehicles are cooler. Can you tell me how many Yiga bases there are?

You have to wonder with the temples' locks: did their designers know that said calamities (no BotW pun intended) were going to happen? Is that why the locks at the locations were put in place? And if not, what were the locks for? Anyway, I hope you're doing better Jacob! Have a great weekend!

When I got this game back in July of last year. It was my day off from work. I have played the game for 6 hours straight nonstop. It took me 2 hours to get through the fire temple. But now after playing it over from the beginning three times. I have moments like "Ohh I am so dumb".

Fun fact about the Fire Temple: if you have the Airbike on autobuild, you can just fly to all of the spots for the gongs, instead of trying to figure out the minecart maze.

If you don't do the first lock in order or "ooh, shiny treasure chest" and run off to a random room and begin the dungeon there it is hard to find your way back to the normal route again. At least, it isn't very obvious. I cheesed the whole thing with rockets and climbing and hardly used the mine carts.

reason why i don't like fire temple is not the minecarts but the map doesn't really tell me where to go for the last gong. also not the smartest on my fist playthrough i didn't think of using rockets.

The thing i didn't like about this dungeon is that i felt like the fog effect was too much, so i frequently felt like i couldn't see where i was going.

This temple frustrated the living daylights out of me because I ended up spending over an hour trying to figure how to get the last gong. Made me think about one of the things traditional Zelda games have over this one: there's always a clear solution to any given puzzle, even if it's not immediately obvious. Kind of turns the free exploration of this game into a double-edged sword, imo. Although, I guess I'm willing to accept that I'm just kinda dumb. That is also a very plausible. 😅
