Why do you invest heavily in crit on a weapon with only 10% crit chance? That 43.5% critical damage is only worth an overall 4.35% damage increase. That's a lot of wasted mod capacity. Your 22.7% crit chance makes the weapon go from 10% to 12.27% crit chance. It barely makes a difference compared to leveling action & reaction or adding elemental damage to it. Look at the footage in this very video, you rarely crit. It's not a weapon meant for crit builds.

So where’s the 500,000dps build?

I am on the 6th hard mode boss, and I've learned running Crit or Weak point mods on any gun unless it has HIGH stats for those stats originally it's a wasted investment adding it to the weapon with mods. The tamer is a great example of such a weapon. The optimal set up for ALL guns is, Fire Rate, Firearm ATK and Mag size. I would say reload instead of mag size for some high RPM weapons but a prolonged period of DPS during vulnerable moments or damage opportunities to mag dump is better imo. As for the rest of the mod space, i genuinely believe this should be reserved for ELEMENTAL DMG and supporting it constantly swapping elements for Clossi, and Dungeon runs is basically REQUIRED to do damage once you hit Hard mode. Typically it's optimal for the stat rolls on the gun to have Firearm ATK, Clossi DMG, Mag/Reload OR Status Chance, and an Elemental dmg roll. Then use mods to stack that effect. Of course if you're using a Hand Cannon, Sniper, Tac Rifle or Beam rifle aiming for Crit DMG, Crit Chance or Weak chance, Weak DMG, is obviously better than running elemental mods but the core of any weapon are the mods I mentioned above. But from my experience running the element mobs/clossi/elites are weakest to out performs crit or weak DMG by miles.

Crit is not recomended on tamer unless you place like 3 crystals on it to get it to crtrate 15%+ but that's heavy investment at that point. Base value is low and even with 100% crit rate mod itll only double the base value which is peanuts. Weak point and element atk are better investments for mods alongside the trifecta of rifling, action and reaction and fire rate. It'll get to around 480k dps number at that point but realistically its higher than that.

DPS is incorrect in this game and while tamer is good it is not best in slot for dps, shocker I know, you can solo hard devourer with a thunder cage faster than this gun, tamers’ base weak point is horrendous and everything weakpoint scales off the base

Crit builds are gonna display more DPS but I promise you you’re not doing even half the dmg you will do with a weak point build of 360k DPS. Please don’t go Crit
