A city that receives the high grade +A compared to other capital cities in the USA (I have visited many). A city that is well planned and convenient for transportation and pedestrians. A clean city, and especially modern with skyscrapers and huge malls. Despite this, a family can safely walk with a child driving a tricycle, crossing a crosswalk and the traffic stops - no traffic lights! Really wonderful. In all the capital cities that I have visited, I have not seen personal safety and free space walking in the lower city in the USA. I hope Davud that you will have the opportunity to visit the villages and connect with their personalities and discover other and different worlds. This is a character (treasure) that only you - Davud have, to "touch" "the heartstring" and bring out the hidden beauty in people. Good luck!

I am very happy that you are going to show us Kazakhstan. This is a country I’ve learnt to love because my favorite singer, Dimash Kudaibergen, is a Kazakhstani. You may decide to listen to his music sometime. He has the most enchanting voice in the world. Like you, he has followers from every continent in earth. As Almaty is in very active seismic zone, the residential buildings of soviet era were specifically designed and engineered for them to withstand at least 7-8 earthquake on richter scale.... so those 9 story blocks of apartments were not built as easily as you say. They were tested and left unoccupied for at least 1 year before people would be permitted to move in...... So many buildings in Almaty that were built before 1995 are highly regarded amongst the local people and considered as reliable, well insulated with thick solid walls. I live in one of those blocks and I absolutely prefer Soviet built block more than the modern ones that do not look and feel safe to me.
