I wrote this song 2 years ago in my senior year of high school. I wrote it for a class but didn’t have a prompt, so I decided to write about growing up and moving and leaving people behind.
Here are the lyrics:
Reminisce:
Verse 1:
Feet pound on the pavement
The night disappears
Theres no one to talk to
Nobody to hear
Verse 2:
When I walk into my room
I walk in fear
There’s no one to talk to
Nobody to hear
Pre-Chorus:
I’ve outgrown all my clothes
And now nothing fits
I need some quiet
So I can reminisce
I fall asleep and I can’t seem to get up
In a year or two I’ll leave, so why even settle?
Chorus:
I can’t say I cried
When I said goodbye
But that doesn’t mean
I miss you any less
I know that you cried
When I said goodbye
But I just can’t
Seem to return those tears
Verse 3:
Hike through a forest
To get to the creek
The waters cold
She said don’t get in too deep
Pre-Chorus:
But I run carefree
Past all the trees
Keep going until
I’m into my knees
I slip and my head goes underwater
I tried to swim but in the end I got caught up
