They make longer rails/feet for the lift for improved stability/safety, if pouring a proper footing isn't an option. If you look and around the base of existing (2 post) lifts, you can see where the slab around it has has been (diamond) cut and re-poured, about a square yard, meaning there's a deep footing specific for the lift. Safety first!

@@DMAXRYNO due to having voltage passing through that box and it being metal, if there where to be a nick or short it would happen at the box and not engerize the metal from/to the panel. There's 10/32 threaded hole inside the 4square for bonding.. Just a safe practice, you can never have too much bonding lol 👊🤘 NEC 2017: 250.148 I believe

Lift the car till the loud click happens then drop the lift without pushing the lock lever that way the weight of the car is on the locks not the hydraulics.
