I worked as a software engineer in a team of ten... all males. We got a new team leader a woman that fired two of our team and brought women in. The one new lady came to my cube and asked me some stuff... she admitted she had NO clue about MVC or C#.... How the hell did she get hired. And her asking me over to cube to show her things constantly brought my productivity down. I finally left the company because of that and told my manager why. I did have another job lined up at that time :)

Wow - I'm living that right now. We have a new hire at my work that has no idea what is going on, and is completely unqualified for the position. This person is in constant need of guidance, correction, and advice. Any time there is a question directed towards me, or I am asked for help I direct them to ask my manager. You may notice that I didn't use race or gender in my account, but I'll conclude by saying our new hire checks several (more than 4) of the DEI boxes.

I undertook DEI training. It was a VERY racialist curriculum. The between-the-lines message was anti-white and anti-colonial. I was offended by the not so subtle message that I am a racist in need of reeducation.

Funny enough, I just took the one at my employer tonight. I have worked there on and off since 2011, this is the first one. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but, there was an emphasis on how much better the company will be if it is diverse, etc But it really mostly just touched on Civil Rights Act 7, the ADAA and the other disabilities act. All things I have been well aware of having worked in public housing sector etc It also said the company would have a better corporate reputation with more diversity.

My wife was asked when applying for a job at the embassy: “what do you think about DEI?” She didn’t know how to answer, said-“I believe in the golden rule and treating people with respect.” A black woman was hired…as often is the case nowadays. Black women will get the job and are harder to fire. That is where we are at.

I mentor a young African American woman who was also in hiring market, I offered recommendations as she worked for me. She was telling me how employers were leading with diversity. I advised her to tell them, hire me because I’m good not because I’m black. Of course she was like- cmon sir let me enjoy this…

Another reason is that the tech companies have a bottom line issue and they start reducing costs. Of course, they cut the least useful expenses. And, on top of it, the lawsuits coming their way are scary. Who would want the DEI officers to be deposited fully and under oath by smart lawyers who won't even break a sweat to make them admit in court that what they did was unlawful.

From the beginning I've said the same as Kennedy, it is divisive. I generally describe it as innately segregating. I never understood it because there is an EEOC statement on job descriptions that every employer puts out and it includes no discrimination against gender, sexual preference, race and all those other things. It's there already in a different format!

That's why I loved the trades. I worked as a welder/fitter starting in 1975 and was until I retired four years ago. I still do it now when I choose want. It was simple. Show up to interview, complete your tests and show other proficiencies (welding, burning, blue prints, shop equipment, safety etc.), if you pass you agree to wages/rating and that's it. It won't take long to see if you can really do the job. They have real good ways of weeding out the ones that can't or don't want to learn. And an amazing camaraderie for those that can or are wanting to learn.

I was a Fitter and Turner, in Australia. I served a 4 year Apprenticeship. I worked mainly on Lathes. I gave it up not long after that.. Now there are very few Jobs left for Fitter and Turners. Most of the repairs on Ships are done overseas in Asian Countries.

The last thing this video reported was that California just raised it's minimum wage to $20 hr. while I remember when in 1975, fresh out of High School the minimum wage in California was $2.40 hr. .... And nobody could raise a wife and kids on it, but it wasn't meant to do that.... Minimum wage was the entry level wage to go into a new profession of labor field, and you worked your way up from there....

The Voice blind auditions is a perfect example: The coaches chair is turned backwards and they have no idea what you look like they just care about the voice you have.... DEI has been around for a looong time now, not under that label, but none the less. We had DEI in the Army as far back as the early 1980s. We had both military and civilian staff positions dedicated to scheduling training and classes on this. Most agreed that this was boring, insulting, and non-productive.

I work for one of those high DEI companies. They gave my black coworker 20 Fridays off since April including every Friday in December. I got really sick and tried to call out one day and my black manager said I couldn't use sick day except for Doctor's appointments or surgeries. So even calling out sick and not showing up, I am currently written up for 2 days and labeled unpaid vacation rather than being able to use my sick time.

That's the problem with sequestered "sick time" as well. They require a doctor's note or other medical documentation. But have exceedingly subjective enforcement. In your case, a racist boss decided whom the rules applied to and appears to be using a "reparations" approach. He should be fired but he won't be. You'd likely be fired for reporting him.

I graduated from high school just in time 1977. In my day the students chose the most beautiful cheerleaders for the varsity team. The most popular and the most attractive students were the homecoming Queen and King. The best athletes held top spots. Honer graduate's were a small percentage with scholastic achievement. Excellence was revered and we all aspired to be great at something. I learned years later the number of cheer leaders was tripled and every one was given a chance. Sports became less competitive. Student grades have declined since !977. Mediocracy is now embraced which eliminated a place a person could to rise to with hard work or great talent. All of this is bad enough DEI creates an uneven playing field and is a racist, unfair, absurd, illegal, corrupt, idea that will have a very bad outcome.

@kairidon3363 1 - DEI has resulted in a bunch of unqualified hires and promotions. Employee morale automatically dips because DEI is divisive in work cultures instead of bringing teams together. There's nothing wrong with diversity in the workplace as long as people are qualified; however, 90 percent of the time, they aren't. In a school environment the person doing their best will always be outdone by the box checking DEI student. It's wrong.

Schools and employers should recruit far and wide. Racial, gender, or ethnic quotas and discrimination are illegal. Companies and schools should be very careful about making pronouncements on political controversies of the day. Political winds can change overnight.

I work for a large corporation and hate this stuff. Why separate people by encouraging them to join groups that are specific to race and sexual preference? This is the opposite of bringing people together. Employees will naturally socialize with people like them, the object should be to encourage them to meet and befriend employees that are different from them.

DEI policies regarding hiring for Air Traffic Controllers have made serious problems for travelers, when they hire disabled, maimed, mentally challenged, or have a criminal background. What ever happened to hiring someone based on their experience and abilities? Well, guess those who want to fly will have to consider wearing parachutes in case a plane were to go down due to poor performance of an ATC who had a mental meltdown or was unable to read or decipher a radar screen, or was unable to reach said screen in time or use their headgear with the proper knowledge to handle a stressful situation. My previous posting was blocked by our KZfaq overseers so we'll see if this one goes through.

DEI was a 'federal' imposition before CRT or LGBT. It is redundant like the Civil Rights Act of 1964 insofar as it factionalizes perception to only count offense, not voluntary compliance.

There are no important parts of DEI. My sister can't find a job because some jobs have "black female only" on the application. Another job she was trying to get specifically asked the manager, what color her skin is. It's crazy! I have nothing against anyone's skin color, but getting a job should be based on job ability and performance not on your skin color.
