It was something that the Founding Fathers wanted to stay away from because they doubted they could get support by outlawing it and many of them were slave owners themselves. Alito, Beerman and Barrett outright lied when they considered Roe settled law and not subject to change.

Upon swearing into office, for any elected official, a reading and subsequent report on the Constitution should be prepared by each candidate. Term limits for the Supreme court would be unconstitutional. They would have to amend the Constitution. The whole idea the Democrats have is wrong. ALL appointed members were voted in by a bi-partisan committee. The reason they are appointed for life is what is happening now. Public opinion is a moot point. The SCOTUS HAS to be able to rule on constitutional grounds and how people feel about that is irrelevant. If the Democrats got their way, they would change the court to suit their needs weekly. No matter how you feel about the SCOTUS, they are there to keep this country free. SCOTUS has NOT banned abortions, has NOT taken your free student loan forgiveness and has NOT "taken" any freedoms away from the people. All they have done, in most rulings, is give the power back to the state for these matters. People of this country are under educated over fed and extremely lazy to not know how the branches of government work and why they were put in place by the forefathers.

I agree...I would like to see a single term limit of six-years for all of them. It is silly that Reps run for re-election about 20 minutes after winning a seat as is required in a two-year term. Stagger it so that a third of Congress comes up every two years.

Want higher SAT Scores? Study more. As a wee lad my papa told me school was my job. The majority of my classmates treated school like a nuisance. I treated it like a job complete with overtime and double shifts to get Bs and As. I was a dull knife and put myself against the wet stone for countless hours. The results were good.

A lot of alumni donate to get those legacy admissions...I don't really see that as the same.....I think it still requires some investigation into the student.....why would you even want to go to a top notch school if you can't do the work? I'm not sure if they have exams anymore or just grade with stars, but exams used to be tough and require sleepless nights and a lot of anxiety.... A lot of suicides happened at that time.

Indeed, the courtroom can be a volatile place as you must examine and cross examine, and be willing to be in close proximity to violent criminals. And be willing to accept any ruling or judgement the court sees fit.

When you talk about Harvard university, where I live in Pennsylvania you have to say Senator John Fetterman. Yes because of his parents money he went to Harvard and I presume he was a graduate. Take a look at this man now and compare him to what he was two or three years ago and you will find out that he’s suffering from brain damage but he wasn’t much smarter a few years back. Just because you have a degree from Harvard doesn’t mean you’re particularly bright.

In Australia we used to have university entrance exams. You chose your courses and choice of university, then you sit their entrance exam. Best scores win. It doesn’t matter who or what you are.

As someone who was admitted to a very good University based on race, I can say for sure that it’s a bad idea! My mother sent me to Private School all my life and even with all that I was not prepared for the real world. I got into a University because I fit for their Hispanic Engineering program. I lasted 2 years before realizing there were others of all races far better than I. I wasted 2 years and countless dollars chasing a dream that wasn’t meant for me. I ended up going to a state college, changed my major, got better grades and walked away with a Management Marketing degree…and I’m grateful for that. Affirmative Action helps NO ONE! I want a doctor performing open heart surgery to be the best of the best…not someone who ticked boxes! If race really was an issue there would be no black actors or athletes…or lawyers trying high profile cases…or Supreme Court Justices! Notice how the Black and Hispanic politicians are FOR Affirmative Action…yet look where they are! Notice wealthy white men in government talk about White Privilege…and yet they won’t step down! The hypocrisy is maddening and needs to end!

Whether affirmative action is good or bad it should not be decided by people like Clarence Thomas and Aleto. They take money and lavish gifts from wealthy Republican donors and then hear cases brought forth by wealthy Republican donors. Our Supreme Court has been corrupted and cannot be relied upon for fairness and justice by the MAJORITY of us. I cannot believe that the Democrats under Joe Biden did not correct the misuse and abuse of our highest court by Republicans.

her district is very blue AND politically disengaged - i.e. the active voter base are the radicals, while the center-left doesn't pay much attention - her existence is a good argument for compulsory voting (even if that is kind of an oxymoron - "forcing you to choose" is not very democratic).
