To me the butterfly XT kinda disappointed me because of the teeth and how it’s spin had hardly any power behind it’s spin and it didn’t feel like a yo-yo because of how light and non solid it was and you make a solid point about the fizz because the yo-yo took the fast 201’s teeth and smooth play.

We are planning to do that, but I am not sure when.

It will sleep 20-40 seconds with a straight and powerful throw. The teeth do not interfere with tricks on the string, unless your string is too thick. The string we recommend in the Beginner Pack are perfect for this yoyo. That being said, if you thing you are interested in getting very good at yoyoing, you might want to check out the Sage Yoyo Starter Pack. It allows you to setup the Sage as both.a beginner and advanced yoyo by swapping out the bearing. yoyotricks.com/shop/sage-yoyo-starter-pack/

5 is definitely on the young side to start yoyoing, but having worked with a number of very small kids I would probably suggest the Oracle to get started. It has a really snappy response, and works well with a shorter string.

The string that comes on the Fizz is a little on the thick side to make it easier to get it to come back up. If you have a replacement string, like the string in the pack, you should find it sleeps longer. Also, the longer you play the more your throw will improve in general.

@@yotricks The time I got was on replacement string as I opted to use that first, but it seems it's dependent on improving my throw to give it a better spin going down

Did you install the string correctly? Single loop on and then make sure the string is straightened out? Mine sleeps easily and for a crazy long time

This yoyo is not a yoyo that you will end up competing with. This yoyo is meant for responsive play only and will not be able to perform unresponsive tricks.

We haven't heard of that yoyo. We do not have any plans to review that yoyo.

kyler thomas Adam may get around to answering this, but I can tell you from past answers they've given that they're not fans of MagicYoyos in general. The Skyva is the first one they've ever sold, or even really had anything good to say about. They feel that MagicYoyos in general are poorly designed and cheaply made, including the N12, although I believe (although don't take this as gospel, I could be remembering wrong) he said that the Stealth was a step in the right direction, but only a step, it still wasn't very good. Having said all that, although I'm not much of a fan of MagicYoyos, myself, if you like them, then by all means, throw them. If you find a yoyo that you love, it doesn't really matter if everybody else in the world thinks it's crap., if you love the yoyo, throw it. It's all about how you feel about it. Hope I helped a little, anyway.

At this point we do not carry the Replay (as opposed to the Replay Pro) and we only review yoyos we carry.

The Butterfly XT uses starbursts, which are similar but not as well suited for play as the response in the Fizz. The starbursts in the XT are not as aggressive as the teeth in this yoyo, which means it does not play as responsive and consistent as the fizz. At the same time, the starbursts in the XT do not allow the yoyo to sleep as long since they will not move out of the way when the yoyo is sleeping.

I am not familiar with that mod, but it seems that if you are interested in unresponsive play you should consider a different yoyo that is designed to be upgraded, like the Sage. yoyotricks.com/shop/yoyo-store/yoyo-brands/yotricks/the-sage-yoyo-pro-pack/

started today. I think its the string. I've had it for about a week now. does the bearing need lube, or a new string?

The bearing come pre-lubed, so it should not need to be lubed again, at least not this soon. I would recommend changing the string if you have another. If you decided to lube again that would not be a problem, but the bearing should be fine for a while without it.

you need to loosen the gap in order to do string tricks better and tighten it for looping

It is difficult to get the Butterfly yoyo to sleep for more than 3 seconds, because it does not have a ball bearing (like the Fizz in this video). When it is not sleeping, most likely the problem is that the string is too tight around the axle.

It is a similar shape to the Luminator, just a little larger so it is better for loops, and because of the response teeth it requires less maintenance.

If you will be there to help them learn, I suggest you go with the Sage, especially if you really like that yoyo. If they will mostly be learning on their own, it may be better to go with the Fizz.
