As a kid I would throw a rubber ball against the brick garage wall. I'd been told about it but did it anyway. I had a ten foot target wall with a window in the middle of the wall. I can still remember the flight that ball took as it crashed through the window and sent glass into the open window of my dad's car. Needless to say, I had it all cleaned up before I faced the order of the court.

I can imagine, We need to come up with a story quick. We weren't throwing rocks at each other, we were throwing them at the demolition derby car. Paul did good not overreacting. Paul, gonna say this once, 20 years ago I watched my wife lose her eyesight from a degenerative eye disease, I can't tell you in words the amount of pain and suffering one endures from losing vision. I can tell you, if you have a choice to see tomorrow after you grind a weld or not, choose to see, Paul if you read this and decide to wear glasses like it is your religion, it will have made my wife's experience just a little less painful. Trust me losing your sight is a cliff you fall from not a slope you slide down. I turned wrenches for a living and before I was educated about eye loss suffering, I was just like you, but no more, I have safety glasses EVERYWHERE!!! I still weld, grind, and drill all the time, but I take the walk to get the specs. ps LOVE your channel! You guys Rock!

My brother is an engineer and a few years ago got a piece of metal from a lathe or drill or something in his eye. He had a fairly good chance of losing a fair portion of eyesight, but he was lucky and escaped unscathed. I don't understand why my favourite KZfaqrs don't wear glasses or goggles, you're not a tough guy or 'un-woke' by not being smart👍 Sorry to hear about your wife.

There may be secondary reasons to protect one's eyes from metal damage and that is should one need an MRI a diagnostic procedure may be limited because they want to know about past encounters in that regard. Being stubborn about not using seat belts and goggles is foolish.

I love your relationship with your family, especially your boys, and I appreciate how you handled the broken window(s). Making him pay for it was seriously the right thing to do. I'm surprised that you didn't make him help with clean up, but maybe not having him there was your way of dealing with it? I grew up with, if you broke it you fixed it. That meant you did everything including hauling top too the shop and picking up. No help from anyone. Made you change the way you looked at things ahead of time. Consequences for your actions. That's why we shouldn't be paying off other people's student loans. I always told my kids, don't break what you can't afford to replace. Never had a problem with them destroying things. Great teaching moment.

Boy's got a good arm to pitch a rock through the back window and and for it to still carry enough speed to take out the front window, he might have a future in baseball.

The FJ is coming along, can't wait to see the finished product, even though you'll alway have something to do on it when you bang it up rock crawling, I'd like to see you say were done when there's nothing left to do but drive it!

Lesson learned! Its funny you showed that factory GM air fittiing, I have made all kinds of those at the company I have worked for 36 yrs now. My grandson was just playing yesterday with the bucket of samples I saved at home. He calls them gadgets. LOL!

You should thank your son for the inspiration to do all that. 😄 There's nothing quite like somebody messing up your stuff to motivate you to make it nice again. And improvements are always on the menu. Databyter

i really like the white rust and metal spotted look, its so rustic and just one of a kind, idk if your keeping it like that but it reminds me of a natural marbled look yet is so old western i love it, add in the fact its a rock crawler its another one of a kind build like the golden nugget ..ps it also reminds me of a cow pattern

They're gonna have Robby paint it eventually, which sucks cause I really like it too, it's perfect patina. Rustic is a very good term for it

Michelle, Went we were teens and if anything like that ever took place---We had to tell Dad face-to-face! That was why we never had to make that sort of call! Dad also was the strongest, most gentle man who ever lived and we stressed him to the max! Paul you handled it all well!

I absolutely love that Landon had to pay for the windows that he broke. That is so great to see parents teaching their kids that actions have consequences.

Good learning experience for the boy and anger management! Atleast it happened to a family member and not someone else or he may have been taught a really hard lesson! Really liked the fact he did apologize at the end.. Paul is a great father for teaching respect for others stuff! Great Job to both!

Reminds me of the time I used my dad’s drill press as a milling machine and smoked the spindle bearings. He took me to the hardware store to buy a new one. For a kid that was an expensive lesson.

I was teaching my younger brother how to drive a stick. Later on, he though I told him, that the clutch had to be out, when starting it. Long story short he drove a 78 Ford Courier, through the family room window. He then put a big rock, in front of it and told our old man that, someone threw it. He didn’t fall for it and somehow I ended up grounded!

Drill those windshield hinges out and pin them... then you can take your windshield off when you're off road and not to worry about breaking it. Did it to my '79 CJ-7. Love the videos!!!

That kid's got an arm, a ricochet that goes through a window and breaks another. Some great potential there. Be glad it wasn't the curved glass. Spraying a catalyzed product of any kind without a mask is not a good idea. You think it will stop curing when it's in your lungs? Nope, in to stay. Love your channel, I'd like to see you doing it for a few more years. Nope, not safety police, as a builder, remodel, finish, woodworker, who also dabbles in welding, plumbing, electrical guy, I've taken plenty of safety shortcuts. It only takes one shortcut gone wrong to give you a new paradigm. Do it for Michelle.
