Mr. Arzy Rogers is my father. 💕 Daddy, my Grandfather, Clarence Rogers and Uncle, Gordon Rogers worked for FEC Railway. Awesome History! Excellent!

My grandfather, father, brother and an uncle all worked on this railroad: 2 Engineers, 1 engine mechanic, and 1 baggage handler. Often ate in the restaurant after church. Enjoyed this history very much.

This was a great production which I was thrilled to watch. If only we had film clips like this to watch in high school history classes when I went to school in NSB, history would have been much more interesting. Thank you, and please keep up the good work.

There are 5 FEC Pacific type(4-6-2) steam locomotives still in existence. 3 of the 5 are still in Florida. There is also an 0-8-0 steam switcher, the 253.

And of those 3 Pacifics, one is now running in excursion service, #FEC148, now under the care of US Sugar Corporation, which first bought her from the FEC in the 1950s to haul sugarcane. After selling her, and after stints in New Jersey and Colorado, US Sugar bought her back a few years ago and restored her to operating condition. She is now the star of US Sugar's excursion operations in the sugarcane field of Central Florida.

Dad had a furniture store on Federal Hwy, north end of Delray Bch. The road behind was Old Dixie Hwy. In the early 60's, there was a derailment, caused by sabotage. Union troubles were what was said to have caused it. For several years after, they ran white Ford station wagons ahead of each train, riding shotgun. We lived in an apartment built into the back of the store. The 10:00 PM train would put me to sleep.
