Once upon a time, in a far off made-up kingdom known as Italy, an itinerant swordsman named Fiore dei Liberi quests across the countryside in search royal employment, followed by his trusty apprentice Niccolo, a girl disguised as a boy.

In case anyone browsing here doesn't know, the swordsman is named after and based off of a real guy! And "The Flower of Battle" was the sword fighting book he published somewhere in the late fourteenth to early fifteenth century. The swords and clothing here are off by a few centuries, but I really like this depiction of Fiore! From his writing you definitely get the sense that he was someone very aware of his talent and who wore his prejudices on his sleeve. There's another short film slstarrinh him directed by Alberto Mattea called "Fiore."

Thanks for watching, glad you liked it! We transported Fiore a couple centuries because we thought he'd fit nicely in a classic hollywood swashbuckler type of setting. I've seen Alberto's short! Really enjoyed it

Classic! So many interesting elements which could be fleshed out to feature-length: the super--talented but clueless hero, his smarter but novice assistant, the fights, the running commentary on rules - all great stuff.

This was awesome! The little cheer after he threw the 2 swords had no right being as funny as it was. This was awesome! Not a single weak link. Costume, locations, acting, fights, it was all great!
