Miss this ride so much, loved it as a child and as an adult. I remember being outraged when they changed the theme from riding in a log round a Wild West saw mill to riding in a bath and those damn ducks moved in, but by then I had a kid and he loved it. Fond memories 👩‍👦

One by one, the world's classic log rides are disappearing. Yes, it sometimes means we get great new coasters, but it's a sad loss.

OMG! I went to Alton Towers at the weekend, and we walked past this, and it looked sooooo creepy! I know they only just shut it, but it looks like it's beef abandoned for years! So creepy!

I love Alton Towers! It's the best theme park I've ever been to! I'm going to Alton Towers for the third time in October. I went twice in 2013, May and November. We took a three year break to allow ourselves to go to other theme parks like Chessington, Thorpe Park and Adventure Island. Early this year we decided to go back to Alton towers because we loved it so much! Me, my Dad and my brother all love theme parks and at least go once a year. I've been to one this year so far. GOSH HOW I LOVE ROLLER COASTERS

The Flume walked so Wicker Man could RUN 🙏🙏 In all seriousness, I miss the flume, I wish there were a way to keep both at the same time

Well I’ve been on this flume a few times a year from when I was about 5-6 all the way till I was 16 and I’ve got to say the wicker man is no where near as fun or nostalgic but I guess change has to happen.

My best memory about the flume is when I tried to sneak on it by filling my shoes (bad I know) and I actually got on and I was so happy as a week later it was starting to get removed 😂🥺

This could have so easily be rethemed as a eerie horror ride. It's already sort of terrifying.

Those ducks were absolutely terrifying, even as an adult. Scarier than Duel or whatever it was called before.

Remember going on this with our school party early 1980's. Went on with Gordon Rowland (A tall guy) Kevin Lunny and myself. That dark drop got me, seemed to go on forever back then. The final big drop, Kevin and I decided to duck as the flume hit the bottom leaving poor Gordon to take the full might of the water. We were in school uniform and boy he was soaked right through. Being April it was cold and he was shivering sadly to the amusement of many who attended from Vale of Catmos College in good old Oakham Rutland

Say as you please about The Wickerman but this was the best. Coasters, coasters, coasters ffs how boring. This was a change of pace and a lovely ride.

Have been on this so many times. The whole of our lower school went each year and have been there with my friends/family lots too. Whatever the weather we made a point of going on this and other water rides.

Excellent water ride, shame it's gone now. Fingers crossed it'll have a worthy replacement.

I wasn't sure about riding Hex at first, but after we did it I'm glad my Dad encouraged me. Alton Towers is the Best

Can't believe they are removing the log flume😭

Had a bit of an unfortunate incident on this ride as a child. Whilst climbing out of the log boat at the end of the ride I somehow managed to get my foot jammed between the boat and the platform. As a result the next item on the agenda was a check over froma first aider. My family got 2 year's free entry out of this incident though.

I went on this when I was 12 with my school. I lost my group of friends but found some other friends to go on some rides on. So I was there with three boys who i was friends with (I'm a girl by the way) and we went on this one and the other water based one. It was so much fun!

I remember watching in the queue sometimes after the big drop at the end the wave from the boat behind going down it would go into the boat and unexpectedly get people wet really amused me.

There was actually a short period of this you could ride this and smiler same day

When I went on this ride in 2008 my dads hat fell off and as soon as the ride ended we were rushing to exit and then then the ride was broken and it shut down for the rest of the day

They seemed to have a lot more warning with that duck than I did. Like I remember being in total darkness and it appearing with a loud sound a bright light once it was literally right next to me
