MY WHOLE LIFE I have gotten this move confused with The Mist. I have never seen that movie because I thought I saw it already! I got spoiled on the ending to The Mist but now I am going to watch it because it looks like a good movie.

The Mist is quite good. If you read a bit, then both books are very good (Mist & Fog) and worth taxing from your local bookstore. Some libraries have novel.

I honestly don't care what people think about this remake, at all. I really love the John Carpenter's The Fog, but something about the remake had brought my attention and it was actually very well done. The remake wasn't as scary as I thought, but it was sad than just scary. The remake is different, but a guilty pleasure of mine.

This have 10% ten flick, 90% atmosphere, and at difference from the original, actually make you think, the elders have no remorse of what happen in the past and the movie not spill the beans mid movie like the original, I like The Fog of John Carpenter, specially the twist ending, but this remake is very well done, even better than the original.

@@Toadyru You ever watch it? This movie was made when J Horror was sweeping trough the U. S., if this wasn't a remake, I would call a very good imitation of J Horror, at difference from you, I no have nostalgia googles, I really like the atmosphere of this movie, the original was pirates zombies the movie, and the reason for why they come back is spoil mid movie, the only think that I like is the plot twist at the end, when you think that the priest is safe, he killed.

The 1980's trailer moves slow and is interesting. It makes me want to see more even though it is creepy, this remake moves fast and I see too much of the major scenes in the trailer to make me even want to sit through the film. every single one of Carpenters' films moves straight through no pit stops, you get the story and characters as you go along for the ride. This is the typical stop and go stop and go with filler flick.

Yeah, in some aspects is better than the original, they rise the mystery and the atmosphere, that was the whole point of Carpenter movie, also not spill the beans mid movie, one thing about this movie is that the older generation have no remorse whatsoever and in denials of what their ancestor did, at contrary of the original, they act like real people.

All these kind of movies helped me to think about the realities and the spiritual implications.. aswell as the other interferences that can be in part why people become affected or made out to be crazy when they aren't. They are literally affected. That's why it never concerned me within the spiritual exploring..it was the disrespect that pissed me off.

Finally saw this after nearly 20 years of avoiding it. It wasn't as unwatchable as I've been led to believe, but also *far* from being any good. The original Fog from 1980 isn't a perfect film, but has a nice spooky atmosphere, a good cast, an old-school practical FX, and an eerie score from Carpenter. I see it as Carpenter trying to do an old campfire ghost story and it works. The remake has better production values and had the potential to offer a nice update, but alas the poor script, flat characters, fake CGI, and general blandness make it fall short of the 1980 original.

As someone born in 1999 Everyone keeps saying watch these old 70-80’s even 90’s classic movies but I honestly have no drive to see them because I was born watching 2005-2015 movies as a child and teen and I can’t Intake the sound quality, acting, and look of the old movies…. It’s always 40 year olds and super movie geeks who are like in their 30’s telling me to watch them but I’ve seen a few and they just don’t hit :/ IM NOT USED TO THAT QUALITY Many of them think people don’t care for remakes… Um actually us younger people do, we’ve never seen 70-80’s movie and I really don’t plan too watch anymore because the semantics of them just don’t hit to what I’m used to as an early gen z baby

You know this only came out in 2005, right? It's not like it came out in the silent era. Actually, this movie is kinda woke considering there's a black character in a prominent supporting role (as opposed to the 1980 original which had ZERO people of color) and just like the original, there's a few big female lead roles.

I liked the movie, I never saw the original, it's way before my time and I can't bring myself to watch a movie from the 80's. The acting in this movie wasn't the best. Overall, I liked the movie.

I agree, visually it's totally unwatchable and ugly as all hell just an utterly unnecessary remake. Even the priest is a younger guy, as if today's audiences can't look at older people so every character must be like them age-wise, this is so absurd how this crappy movie in every way represents everything that's wrong with today's Hollywood movies.
