To be fair, it's not that we aren't giving independence to Northern Ireland. They're still in the Union because they wanted to be. One day a united Ireland may happen and as an Englishman i'd be happy to see that day.

"Oh had they died by Pearce's side or fought with Cathal Brugha. Their names we would keep, where the fenians sleep, neath the shroud of the foggy dew". As an Irishman I try my best to stay neutral regarding our "colourful" history with Britain but that verse brings the Republican side of me right to the top... Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song.

Wonderfully done! There is another verse to this song (would be the 3rd if included) that virtually no one sings, for whatever reason: "Oh the night fell black, and the rifles' crack made perfidious Albion reel In the leaden rain, seven tongues of flame did shine o'er the lines of steel By each shining blade a prayer was said, that to Ireland her sons be true But when morning broke, still the war flag shook out its folds in the foggy dew"

Hello, Random person reading this comment! Just in case you're looking for the lyrics to the song she is singing, I will post them below this message. Like if you appreciated the lyrics and please subscribe to this woman and her beautiful voice! As down the glen one Easter morn to a city fair rode I There Armed lines of marching men in squadrons passed me by No fife did hum nor battle drum did sound it's dread tattoo But the Angelus bell o'er the Liffey swell rang out through the foggy dew Right proudly high over Dublin Town they hung out the flag of war 'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky than at Sulva or Sud El Bar And from the plains of Royal Meath strong men came hurrying through While Britannia's Huns, with their long range guns sailed in through the foggy dew 'Twas Britannia bade our Wild Geese go that small nations might be free But their lonely graves are by Sulva's waves or the shore of the Great North Sea Oh, had they died by Pearse's side or fought with Cathal Brugha Their names we will keep where the fenians sleep 'neath the shroud of the foggy dew But the bravest fell, and the requiem bell rang mournfully and clear For those who died that Eastertide in the springing of the year And the world did gaze, in deep amaze, at those fearless men, but few Who bore the fight that freedom's light might shine through the foggy dew Ah, back through the glen I rode again and my heart with grief was sore For I parted then with valiant men whom I never shall see more But to and fro in my dreams I go and I'd kneel and pray for you, For slavery fled, O glorious dead, When you fell in the foggy dew.

Here are the words to "A Stor Mo Chroi - Treasure of My Heart" A stor mo chroi when you're far away From the home you will soon be leaving It's many a time by night and by day When your heart it will be sorely grieving For the stranger's land may be bright and fair & Rich in it's treasures golden But you'll pine I know for days long long ago And the one that is never holden A stor mo chroi in te stranger's land Their is plenty of wealth and wailing Where gems adorn the great and grand Where the faces with hunger paling When the road it is weary and hard to tread And the lights of the cities may blind you Won't you turn a stor to Erin's bright shore And the love that you leave behind you A stor mo chroi when the evening mist Over mountain and sea is falling O turn a stor & then you'll list And maybe you will hear me calling For the sound of a voice you will surely miss Somebody speedily returning A run, a run won't you come back soon To the one that will always love you its a beautiful song I wish the Tossers would record it if you know the song already its nice to reflect on the words if not google it. Be Well

A brother recently got the results of a DNA test back. It seems we(my family and l)are 70+percent Scottish-Irish. Part of the reason I'm sure why l like the song, But you my lady, and your undeniably great performance make up the rest of why l enjoyed it so much. Thank you!
