I’m sure it tastes better than it looks. At least I hope it does - you have a lot of it! ; )

How many calories are in a days rations?
@lmack3024 Жыл бұрын
If it's 240 grams, between 1,100 and 2,000 kcal per packet depending on the fat/protein ratio. Probably around 1,500 so 3k calories per day, or a little less.

Since you are packaging these yourself in a garage are you concerned that contamination of any kind might cause them to go off before you reach your destination? It sure would be a shame to cut your journey short because of a spoiled food source.

when's the rough sail date?!
@chapter4travels Жыл бұрын
I suspect any time there is a storm it will be a rough sail. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I think your high fat high protein approach is the right way to go, and it is for sure more nourishing than the mysli and high carb junk diet that many sailers go for. Maybe you should test it for 3-4 days before you go, just to make sure that you are able to digest the fat. Some people are not used to it and therefore don't produce enough bile, if that's the case you could take some ox bile supplements to aid the digestion.

I don't care what anyone says, there has got to be room for a couple packages of Gummy Bears in there somewhere. Why even bother doing a trip like this if you can't enjoy a Gummy Bear or two?

If not, there's always room for jello

@@PineappleAdrift You better be kidding, that would be sacrilege, and I'm not kidding.
