1. France usually brings players from their peak to their demise especially when they made a mistake for them. Eg. Ginola made the single worst cross of his career, France tortured him back in the league, and the rest was history. France isnt a very nice nation when it comes to supporting their players, Same with him (eder), he made france lose the final, and then they made him lose his special touch in return.

i think it's about his age, he was good when he was young but scouts didn't really focus on him if he remained in Braga he would have done better, he's also very good with dribbling but he doesn't score often. he is more of a good substitute when you need a fresh player after 60 to 70 mins of play time.

Theory Personally, I think the team he was playing for at the time didn't really help him, and enough to develop, so when the team played bad, he would probably be blamed for it due to the fact that he scored against France and Lyon is a French team which probably bought down his self-esteem which made him lose confidence now again this probably sounds dumb but it is just a theory

I think there's some missing context in this video... As a Portuguese person... I can assure you that there was no "downfall" to Edér. To be fair, nobody expected him to score against France. We didn't even want him to get the ball. We questioned why he was selected to be a part of our national team. I can assure you that every Portuguese was like "Don't pass him the ball!" I was watching the game live and thought he was going to lose the ball just before he scored. Sure, he became a "hero". But nobody expected anything from him. There were no expectations before or after that goal.

The reason could be related to his father because he murdered Eder's stepmother and threw her body in a river, he got arrested when Eder was 12 and said he had to serve at least 16 years in jail, maybe he is free now and could be trying to kill Eder.

Dont mean to rain on ur parade but it was Mario Goetze, Schuerle had the assist with the cross into the box. And he played for Chelsea, Wolfsburg, Dortmund and Fulham untill 2019 so u cant talk about downfall. Played for Germany until 2017 and Moskau till 2020. He didnt have many goals but he was more a winger, he wasnt great but he didnt fall of like Eder.
