The way I accidentally found to do it was to hit my flip reset with the moment I get it with no direction. So essentially what is happening is I’m jumping off the ball and it causes the ball to rocket off the wheels

purple shots do actually exist as a freestyle shot, where you backflip cancel at a very precise angle under the ball to pop it up

There’s an actual hitbox there you don’t even need to flip cancel. The games code resembles melee imagination becomes reality such is 20xx.

purple shot actually exists in rl lol, you need to backflip and cancel the flip in a way that the ball goes up

Actually the way to get it that I found by mistake was to time your flip reset perfectly and use it without any direction when the ball touches your wheels

This is actually already possible in rocket league(obviously not as violently), try doing a flip reset without a directional input.

Man, remember the first few months of SideSwipe when it wasn't a forgotten and mutating pile of toxic waste they shoved into a closet at Psyonix HQ? Just like Rocket League, a great game that almost isn't even worth playing because of everything surrounding said game. It too suffers from sporadic/dumb decisions made the by company that supports it and morons breaking the game/cheating/being toxic children. Never looked at long enough for anyone to address/fix issues. I miss when people didn't pre-order shit. They helped make this a reality by doing that. "Yes, Father Video Game. I'll pay in advance for an unfinished AAA title. I'm an idiot."

I feel like a "Purple Shot" could exist rather smoothly. If you timed the reset correctly before the bounce off your belly, you would hit jump to send it. Would make sense cause of the rockets underneath your car would propel it forward. Not to mention it would create another option in that situation.

That kind of the whole point of sideswipe is for the phone if people don't have a console or pc. If it was on the PC, no one would play it because it would be too easy to score. They would get an idea of what RL is

I still play Sideswipe! It's super fun, and the purple shots (and gold shots) actually add a ton of weird mechanical stuff you can't do in normal RL. You should revisit it sometime!

@@donovanhughey dude, that is barely similiar to the game portal, since all of those portals are extremely accurate, to the point where they were able to put a portal on the moon (basically ignoring all of physics to shoot a straight shot millions upon millons of miles to the moon)
