@@gong256 I agree completely. There is true heart and soul in this soundtrack. This was the problem with the 90s - big corporations overlooked the talent that they had at their disposal. Nowadays, we have the opposite problem - so many artists won't invest in _anything_ unless there's money involved.

@@MrVariant Being a little aggressive there, but honestly you are not wrong. The whole episode title "The Forgotten" is a statement on that. Homelessness exists on the scale it does because we as a society allow it to. It's something uncomfortable for us to acknowledge, so we push it to the back of our minds. We forget because it's easier than getting these people the help they need.

@@josephperez2004 sure, somebody has to lose wealth to help (poor investment) and they're usually only going to stay poor or get addicted to drugs. Not everyone is like this, but it's only possible to really help at a government level between the housing and drug programs. Maybe a non profit could help too.

There's still great stuff out there if you know where to look--The Legend of Korra, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Transformers: Prime, even Steven Universe and the end of Clone wars, etc. But most scores are not usually produced or composed at the level it was back in the day, and that's a genuine artistic tragedy. Granted, Walker's musical direction for the early DCAU is a towering achievement in any context. It is stunning, just a jaw-dropping, years-long thematic tapestry with its own internal set of rules, but never to the exclusion of its other musical contributors' voices.

spiderverse has an excellent soundtrack that just happens to be constructed differently from the btas soundtrack, including tons of original tracks but also well utilized artist features. two things can be very different while both being good :)
