No there’s more than one lawsuits. In Korea & in Japan. Also even when JYJ won, $M appealed again and again to drag JYJ activities. Therefore even the court ruled JYJ won and $M had to pay them the loss + not interfering their activities. The appeal actions never ending. Ultimately JYJ settled with them no payment needed and went separate ways. Only the court rules no interference + the JYJ law passed but still the trio was blacklisted no way to appear on tv for about 15 years.

i think the saying goes, junsu was the most popular within the fandom & yc had the most non-kpop fans, esp after his dramas took off, while jaejoong had the most int'l fans. if yc was more popular than junsu & jaejoong, it was for a brief period, i don't know why the editor decided to include it in this video when it's not really representative of their popularity.

Yoochun was really popular in the early days of TVXQ. He was the most popular member in Korea until Junsu surpass him in Rising Sun era. But i think, even after Junsu's fandom surprassed his fandom, he was still the most popular one within non-cassies.

They then sent another question asking "How many members are in the world's largest official fanclub?" and the response was "Cassiopeia -- the fanclub of Asian group TVXQ -- consist of over 800,000 official members." However, the TVXQ Wikipedia page says: "Guinness World Records later stated that "[w]e currently have a category for the largest fanclub for a group, but no record has yet been set and we haven't been provided with any evidence." I tried to access the linked source for that statement, but it looks like you need to register to access the Wiki portal where the evidence was submitted, and I can't find any other info online about it. If anyone has any more info about this, I would love to know more.

I believe the Korean fans could register as an official member of Cassiopeia on a website, and that's where they got the figure of 800,000 from. Mind you, that was only the number of *officially registered* fans in Korea - not even counting Korean TVXQ fans who weren't registered, international fans, or their Japanese fanclub, Bigeast, which is a behemoth in itself. Taking all of that into account, I can definitely believe they had the world's biggest fanclub at the time.

He of all people should have sided with Jaesu when they filed the lawsuit against SM as he knows that SM is indeed unfavorable

Nope it was never, Jaejoong wasn't even part of that business. And technically even Junsu and Yoochun, cuz it was members of their families running that business. There's no celebrity who doesn't have families running business and having pics of their celebrity kids hanging on the wall, so how can that business be a problem in first place, let alone be the reason of a big lawsuit. Btw SM was charged for defamation after trying to say the cosmetic business of YooSu families was the problem. The court said it has no relationship, and SM was definitely making defamation and they got them charged.

That's a rather naive reaction. Even with all the promotion in the world, 2vxq wouldn't garner as much attention in Korea as Jaesu still blacklisted. Junsu alone sold more tickets in Korea than them. It's been 15 years and the Kpop landscape has changed enormously so even without the blacklist their status would've changed. Kids may not know JaeSu but a lot of them don't know TVXQ period. Also, you can't get 15 years back in a snap with a few festival appearances. Interest & popularity can be both organic but also highly manufactured and they don't have the ubiquitous media presence that artists backed by big companies have. And that's pretty common in all countries, no entertainment industry is a meritocracy. As a fan, I think it's better to manage your expectations because it's the core fanbase they want to keep and expecting miracles is discouraging to both the artist and the fandom.

The core fandom is quite obviously dwindling in numbers and influence. The music they both release is barely listened to and is a topic of conversation only on the day of release(the week of release if I am to be generous). They need to be treated like the artists and musicians that they are and no one is treating them as such including the core fandom who only care about filtered and whitewashed gifs. Let's call a spade a spade. Edit: the festival appearances and shows should have generated at least some noise, right? Where is it then? Jaechingu should have had some impact on Jaejoong's numbers. it didn't because of the extreme shallowness of the kpop fandoms. Focusing on just the core fandom is just cope on the fans side because Junsu in every festival always says to everyone I make music, I hold concerts, and do musicals please come see me. He's not focusing on the core fandom. He is actively searching for new ones. The expectation that the Korean industry will welcome them back if they are just more patient for a few years is the unrealistic one. They wasted 15 years of their lives on them, they shouldn't waste more. The not knowing excuse is also illogical. The fans know of them in some sort. The honest reality is they just don't care about them for the reasons I have already mentioned. And when convenient will believe every lie, rumor, exaggeration to ever exist because it serves them in some way or because they don't simply see them as human. And I didn't even touch on the infighting of the "core" fandom that is frankly embarrassing to witness 15 years later. Overgrown adults fighting over nonsense that was settled a long time ago because no other fandom is giving them attention so they fight with themselves. This is the core fandom that should give the organic interest and engagement btw. The one that actually should focus on building a new legacy and fortifying it. Life didn't end in 2009. They all still exist(thankfully) and release multiple types of work. Still being hung up on a 6-year-old group is the issue. Still missing the attention given by people like a starlet past her heyday is the issue, instead of actively building a new one. But that would require actually realizing that JYJ did the honorable thing, the noble thing to fight injustice and letting go of the shallowness of people's attention and focusing on artistry.
