this is what New Super Mario Bros 2 should have been. Coins serve a purpose: - You need coins to get into your castle - you can purchase items and lives - Wario is obsessed with money.

I love Super Mario Land 2. It’s one of my favorite 2d Mario games right next to the first New Super Mario Bros on the DS. We could have had a third entry to the Super Mario Land Series if the Virtual Boy wasn’t such a big commercial failure.

I first played this game through *ahem*... "not so official" means since it wasn't as easily available yet. But when it hit 3DS VC I got it and loved it! It was so refreshing to play a game that didn't have the standard worlds & plots. And I love how even Wario debuts here and gets a full boss fight. Mario games need to have that creativity again and use more of its universe.

I wonder what would happen if Luigi and Peach found out about Mario's "thing" with Daisy...

i got this game with my dads gameboy games and a gba, it was and is my favorite (and kinda only) mario game. such fond memories, even a kid in the late 00s genuinely enjoyed it despite having current gen games available.

The fire flower gives mario a feather because to make difference between normal mario and fire mario because there wasn't any colors, just black and white or green

the lottery concept in sml2 could actually work quite well in nsmb2 in place of the 1up system

this is my the best Nintendo game of all time. BTW there is a modded version of the game which gives full gbc colorization, for both SML 1 and 2.

I actually have a gliched save (aka displaying a higher number than possibe), 99 lives, and 999 coins. I also beat it multiple times while adding a spin to it (like not collecting a coin, taking damage, no sprinting, or no killing qn enemy.)

I got it on the 3ds and I gotta say 9/10 for 2D and I've only started playing my only issue is that everything is bigger such as bullet bills their the size of big Mario and the screen crunch due to the GB and it's a lot more confusing compared to other 2D games but it's still awesome only issue I really have that makes me mad is that it's never looked at and luckily Demeech is willing to do that

Super mario land 2 isn't just underrated, it's a banger and the best gameboy ever, and even better than super mario land 1 (which sucks and ignores what super mario works)

Super Mario Land 2 is without a doubt my favorite 2D Mario game, and my favorite game on the original gameboy, which says a lot because I love the original Gameboy and thinks it is really underrated (I once said, that every time there is a good game on the NES, there is an even better game on the Gameboy. I generally prefer the 5 Megaman games on the gameboy over the 6 megaman games on the NES, Castlevania Belmont's revenge is better than all 3 Castlevania games on the NES in my opinion, Kirby's Adventure is better than Kirby's Dreamland, it isn't as good as Dreamland 2, I like Metroid 2 WAAAAAY more than the first (Metroid 1 is legit my least favorite game I ever played, even though it's not the worst objectively, and it was really good for the time), and of course, you could argue Super Mario Land 1 is a better Super Mario Bros 1 while Super Mario Land 2 is a better Super Mario Bros 3. I also think it's a better Super Mario World TBH, and you could argue Wario Land is a better Yoshi's Island which are two games with similar premises, however, now we go into SNES territory, and the SNES is just better if you ask to me, but still the gameboy deserves more recognition, because despite having less power than the NES due to being an handheld, it ended up with better games than it, showing that even back then, those games could have been better, and that technology is not always an excuse for having aged poorly.
