Corrupt politicians, toxic waste disposal and thousand-euro bribes - this is the inside story of the ‘Eco Mafia’ waste trafficking racket in Italy.
Journalist Sacha Biazzo from Backstair, Fanpage.it investigative unit, went undercover with former mafia mobster Nunzio Perella to expose the intricate web of crime inside Italy’s waste disposal services.
Watch more of Backstair’s ‘Bloody Money’ series - www.fanpage.it/attualita/bloo...
Born in 2009, Fanpage.it is one of the main players among online information in Italy, followed by the greatest community in the newspaper Italian panorama: more than 35 million followers on Facebook, KZfaq, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.
Backstair is Fanpage.it’s unit completely dedicated to investigative inquiries, such as Bloody Money, that revealed an intricate complex of crime and corruption behind the waste disposal system in Italy.

That would incentivise people to litter after all the government is being paid to clean it up. This will develop into a habit where they will litter even when out to the jurisdiction of said government because it becomes ingrained in them.
