A primary role of the Holy Ghost is to guide sincere truth seekers and confirming truth. The Holy Ghost has confirmed to me the reality of God, of Christ, of the Atonment of Christ, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Priesthood is restored, the Temples have a role to allow us to get as close to God as humanly possible. It's true ! !

Truly it is wonderful...."Thank God for Joseph Smith and Polygamy". Brother you have just made a statement that is plain and simple and very True. Iam not ASHAMED... Im fully converted again going back to church with my family...I used to run away from priesthood class while my wife and children stayed back for classes. Today at chuch i told my wife and the children to go to their classes while Im going to attend priesthood.. my wife got a shock starring in awe, contemplating on what i just said, but yes...Thank you so must for strengthening my testimony.... love from FIJI Islands❤

Critical points made in this video are, the only safety is to follow God's present day Apostles and Prophets. We must be of a broken heart and contrite spirit to receive revelations and confirmations directly from God. You can never gain a testimony of a primary question, (like is Joseph a prophet), by searching to understand a secondary question, (like is polygamy God given). If you lean toward faith and exercise reason and intelligence you can come to truth and testimony, but if you lean toward doubt and scepticism, your intelligence and observations will never lead to faith. Our individual understanding of God's plan will never match the combined understanding and inspiration of God's chosen, called and ordained assembly of Apostles and Prophets. It takes child like faith to always follow them.

My husband's family as well, in fact were pretty certain they knew each other! We have family in the Mormon battalion, I'm also related to Elisha Jones a Bishop in the early days. And Erastus Meacham. I have always known my family couldn't give me a testimony, that I had to take time to develop my own testimony! About polygomy, it was practiced by the patriarchs and was part of the restoration , but must be confined to Gods law. If Joseph did have children, so what? They were married according to Gods laws. But you are right, if we received a testimony of Joseph we dont need to dig at the roots! Bc we Know already!
@arielb4987
@arielb4987 10 ай бұрын
Back in the day, people were sealing themselves to prophets and church leaders. Married women were being sealed to the Prophet Joseph and other church leaders. They thought it honorable to be sealed to a prophet. A 14 year old girl was sealed to Joseph simply because her parents and other family members wanted to be sealed to him through her. (There was nothing sexual about the relationship…. She lived to be an old woman in Utah). The polygamy of Nauvoo was different than the polygamy of Salt Lake. Eventually they were taught the correct way about sealing families. Joseph Smith did not have any children with any woman besides Emma. She was even pregnant when he was murdered. I have many pioneer ancestors who practiced polygamy. I am grateful for their sacrifices and dedication to following church leaders and building up Zion.

Please understand . Joseph Smith did not marry anyone else but his wife Emma . Joseph Smith only had children with his wife Emma . No one else . That has been proven beyond a doubt . Joseph Smith only had one wife Emma.. so did Hyrum Smith . His first wife died and he married Mary Fielding . They had children . Their history is wonderful . From them came Joseph F Smith and Joseph Fielding Smith . Both were prophets . If Joseph Smith had sealings they were proxie sealings . Most were sealed to him when they were dead and some after he was dead . He did not marry any young girls . That is just lies and gossip . Only wife he ever had is Emma . He said so and so did Emma . I believe them both . Now Brigham young did have more then one wife and many children . If you read doctrine and covenants Joseph Smith was not required to live the law of Sara . It was a test and Emma did not approve . So he was not required to live this law . That was written just for Joseph Smith and his wife Emma . His only wife .

@@arielb4987that is somewhat true . But even the girl who was. Supposedly sealed to Joseph Smith because her father wanted to be sealed in his line is also not true . Even that never happened . He father never asked her to heh sealed to Joseph Smith . That is just rumors . That girl got married shortly after those rumors and had nine children with her husband who was not ever Joseph Smith . They trued to say her first baby was from Joseph Smith but it was not Joseph Smiths child . They even dug up the grave . DNA showed not his child . He was not even sealed to that young girl . He and Emma had nine children . Two adopted . One twin died her own twins died and her first boy died . Five lived .

Thank you for being a Latter Day Paul. Not because you persecuted us but because you are out there publicly spreading the gospel to bolster faith and to help people break through all the deception out there. Over the years our numbers have grown with converts and they all have beautiful stories and testimonies, I’m just grateful Heavenly Father put in your heart to create a KZfaq channel to help counteract all the loud voices of accusatory fog, as you put it, and he gave you the gift to articulate yourself in a powerful way. We need all the spiritual gifts out there working together to help build the kingdom but yours is a very important one. As you know, one of the main tactics Satan will use in the last days is deception. He’s always used it but his time is short and it’s on overdrive! The church needs you and others like you. Not to defend and debate but more importantly offer answers, insights and other perspectives that counteract those voices and deceptions as you do and to speak plainly about things people have a hard time articulating to themselves and seeing through and understanding. You just explain it so well. I feel your background is sooooo unbelievably necessary to be able to do that along with your gift to articulate. People sometimes don’t know what’s slowly happening to them. The frog in water analogy. It also makes all of us so grateful for what we have and for the savior. I also very much appreciate the interviewer as well. He provided powerful and amazing insights to what you were expressing. Also very good video production. Thank you for what you’re doing!

AWESOME teaching, David! Parker, thanks for the nice intro, then stepping back & letting David get going. This may be his best testimony to date. I LOVE the saying, "the mind is a great SERVANT but a terrible MASTER." This mind over heart" conundrum was unknown to me in 1976 when I began investigating the Church for myself. As David points out (I Cor. 2:5) faith shouldn't rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power. I THOUGHT I was humble enough for the Spirit to testify of the truth, but likely, I wasn't.

Maybe hes not meant to at all, but this guy quotes the New Testament quite a bit, wait until he starts quoting the Book of Mormon. Someone needs to send him scripture mastery cards and a Book of Mormon study manual from Institute or BYU Book of Mormon class and watch him go to work
@911StMichael
@911StMichael 10 ай бұрын
He intentionally quotes the New Testament because he says if we want to speak to evangelical Christians, we have to speak their language. They are not likely to accept quotes from the Book of Mormon. But if you use the New Testament to show them that it supports our beliefs, then you have a better opportunity to find common ground and more of an opening to discuss the Book of Mormon. When I first joined the church, I searched out the Bible to see if it supported what I was learning, and while my knowledge of the Bible was nowhere as deep as David's. I found it definitely confirmed most of what the missionaries were teaching me.

Good Brother David Alexander, With profound joy and exultation, I bid thee a heartfelt welcome to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ! As thou embarketh on this sacred journey, may thine eyes be opened to the profound truths and divine teachings contained within the Book of Mormon, a tome which doth stand unwaveringly as a second witness of our beloved Saviour. Verily, this cherished scripture revealeth His divine ministrations amongst the ancient inhabitants of the Americas and affirmeth His role as the Redeemer of all mankind. In these latter days, the Lord hath seen fit to restore His gospel in its fullness, illuminating our path with the light of eternal truth. I testify unto thee, Brother David, that at the heart of the restored gospel, the teachings of prophets past and present, and the very essence of the Book of Mormon, lieth our Lord, Jesus Christ. In Him we find salvation, love, and the promise of eternal life. May this wondrous journey strengthen thine testimony and draw thee ever closer to His divine embrace. In His holy name, Amen.

Everybody can pretend they have all these issues with Joseph, but everything really comes down to when they first decided he was a false prophet. And that moment was the first vision in 1820. That's all we need to discuss. They said it's a vision of the devil not of God. OK think about that critically. Where did Joseph turn? The bible which said ask and you shall receive, if you lack wisdom ask of God. What did he do? He prayed to the father for an answer and they said it was a vision of the devil. Think about that, for that to be consistent they would have to believe that Satan is more powerful than the father and can intercept our prayers to God and deceive us. So what does that mean if Joseph got that answer from satan instead of the father he prayed to? It means God isn't powerful enough to answer our prayers. So if he cannot even guarantee answering our prayers how can he guarantee our salvation? And if I leave the church of Jesus Christ to join their denomination that means they need to be consistent and tell me Satan can intercept my prayers in their church too instead of tell me God will always answer my prayers in their church but not this one. Also if you look at the different accounts of the first vision Jesus promised Joseph's sins were forgiven and he announced he was the Redeemer of the world. So now they have to admit John lied about visions of God and the devil in 1 John 4:2-3. And they have to now side with the Pharisees who said Jesus cast out the devil by the power of the devil. In other words if that was satan why was he leading Joseph to Jesus to lead him away from Jesus? 🤔 That's what they have to ascribe to. If God didn't answer that prayer for Joseph, then they have to teach Satan is more powerful than the father. I'll never teach that. My testimony is the father answered that prayer. Satan didn't have the power to intercept it and appear as the son. Satan actually instead tried to stop the prayer because he didn't have that kind of power.

He teminds me of my father. When my father started looking for the right church. He would ask the same three questions. Where did we come from? Where do we go when we die? And how did the native Americans get here. And i dont believe in the bering straighrs story. My father was an educated man. So when he would ask these questions, weve been thrown out of several churches, and the last one we were accused of beinf Mormons. He had no odea who they were. Well it wasnt long till mon ran into two lady missionaries and they sat down with dad and ansered all his questions without hesitateing . We joined with in the month.

Instead of ignoring the naysayers about "but look at the roots!" I prefer to go "ok, just to make you happy, I'll look at the roots.". Then after an examination of the roots I can feel confident in replying "meh, roots aren't 2 x 4's, they're a little rough, a little dirty, but they look good and strong and are feeding the tree and the fruit really well. Every organization will have some rough spots as it grows and develops and people do odd things sometimes. So what? Next!!!" 😂

That's a totally valid thing also. If anyone wants to send me a supposed "bad roots list"...I would happily point out how lame their supposed badness is. Much love, David
