what amazes me, about all songs like this from the 60s...is that they were not thinking of the future: I mean, they were living in the Now: 1967, London was Hot, the centre of Western Culture, Everything was changing, everything was exciting....this record, like all the top ten, were "Pop" records, made for a huge industry; they were not written for eternity! And yet, here we are! Over 57 years and it still sounds better than anything being produced today. Be honest! How many of Today's "Top 10 Songs" (28-6-2024), will we be listening to in 2081?! Love the 60s and 70s - of course I do, I was young! lol. But the music was...simply BETTER.

One of the few mixed race groups with a very recognisable sound. Nice record which was re-recorded in 1968 with new singer Colin Young who replaced Clement Curtis and recorded in stereo and an LP issued on the Marble Arch label. Will be humming this for a while. Thanks Pat.

Have had the SR325e for ages in the humble music set-up which has nice clear sound. When buying the wireless Grado at Audio Emotion in Glenrothes, I was able to demo a pair of Audeze LCD4 - they retail at £3,800 - wow factor.

🎧👍👍 Hi, Pat: I can't remember what the original is like balance-wise but this perfect mix is how it should be. I was young and just seriously starting to get into music. I knew they did Build Me Up, Buttercup before I knew they did this one. By the looks of the picture, they are a well balanced group. Thank you for another great new mix.

Me too! The original fake stereo version was on UNI Records in 1967, with balance-change rechanneling from the left to the right. Here, the balancing is a vast improvement. CKLW played this one in Windsor/Detroit's border line and it became a big hit over here and the group's first Top 40 record, debuting at #11 on Billboard's Top 40. It sounded so much like a Motown record even though the band was from England.

Just curious...what separation software do you use? Demucs/Splitter/SpectralLayers? I've had issues extracting cleanly with the first two. Never tried SL.
