I was in a prayer room at a missions base in Kona, Hawaii. Right before I was on my way to lead worship, I read John 12:3, and to be honest, my life was changed.
John 12:3 tells the story of Mary pouring out all her perfume on Jesus’ feet and the fragrance of the oil filling the whole house. I felt like I understood worship in a real way. That we pour out all we have, our most expensive perfume, our whole lives, on Jesus’ feet, and the aroma of it will fill the whole space. This verse caused a zeal in me to pour out everything on Him. All my love, adoration, surrender, everything I have; He is so worthy of every ounce. There’s not enough perfume to pour out, He’s worthy of so much more than we can ever give. Let’s pour out everything we have on Him and let the fragrance fill every place we go.
Jesus, let the fragrance of praise mark our lives. The fragrance of gratitude and surrender! Let it be!
