Calling the monster Frankenstein IS PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE! Since Dr Frankenstein created it, that would make him the monsters daddy and perfectly it is appropriate to use the surname of Frankenstein....
@EditorOfSL
@EditorOfSL 2 жыл бұрын
Frankenstein is the real monster of the story. And Mary Shelley called the monster Adam in her original draft, but it never made it into the finalised version of the story.
@garyzimmerman62
@garyzimmerman62 Жыл бұрын
@@EditorOfSL There is a movie that follows Shelly's book a lot closer than the normal movie. Even if the monster had a first name I was referring to a SURNAME, so my point is still valid. Dr. Frankenstein made the monster so assuming it's SURNAME would also be Frankenstein seems reasonable so calling it Frankenstein is perfectly fine....

My god. Those "Wacky Packages" cards brought back memories. I used to collect them when I was a kid in the late 70's, early 80's. I had a TON of them. I even made a board game that used them, where you had to run around a store, grabbing all the wacky items from the shelves, where you had to outdo your opponent in "package worth". And the package worth could change due to bidding. I have a lot of memories designing the system for that game. I used to design games as a kid, and my games got really complex on occasion. I guess this is why when I got older that I really got into wargaming, simulation board games, and role playing games. I had multiple copies of every single card that you showed in this video. I remember them all.

You were right about the James Bond cars. There was also Austin Powers "Shaguar" Christine, from the Stephen King book and movie, and the Sanford & Son truck. As to anyone who thinks Star Trek is better than Star Wars, well, all I can say is that you are entitled to your opinion. You're wrong, but you are entitled to your opinion.

Theremins are hard to play and take a lot of practice. Unlike the museum one, which only is set up for pitch, ones musicians play had two antennas. One raises the pitch the closer you put your hand, and the other antenna controls the volume. A skilled performer can make a theremin sound almost identical to a violin.

I remember when Geraldo Riverra ran that "Al Capone's Vault" on TV. It was a complete bust. It turned out that the "Vault" was just an empty space behind a wall in what I think was the back of a parking garage or something. The only stuff they found in there were some old bottles that the construction workers dumped in there, an rubble/wall fill. The show was the biggest bait and switches ever done on TV. Al Capone had nothing to do with what Geraldo claimed was a vault. I remember the news at the time having a field day with the show the next day, because Geraldo's little show was such a bust. They found literally nothing in there. No artifacts beyond some old bottles, and trash, and absolutely NOTHING that could be tied to Al Capone, or any gangsters.

Also hope you were able to get all of voodoo's risque advertising references & doughnuts (like the blood in the voodoo doll, they have other fillings to match other doughnuts. I love them so much... If you come back to Oregon, try coordinating your trip with the Oregon Country (not county) fair, in veneta (happens the weekend after July 4th) .. although they happen close together. Or the Scandinavian festival in junction city. Both locations are pretty close to the Eugene/Springfield area, which also has a voodoo. The Lane County fair is in Eugene, but it's just a fair...
