Not many people know that Gila monsters and beaded lizards can be tamed down - ya just have to be sure they don’t bite you while taming - start young!

The gila monster is venomus and is the only reptile to have it venom glands in the bottom jaw (the saliva is venomus) Edit : sorry i meant the only one in america

Gila monsters are actually pretty chill, even the wild ones. If you raise them yourself, they are not likely to bite you.

No anti venom because the bite only causes pain I believe

We could easily make Gila monster antivenom, but there’s not really a point, because it’s not potent enough to k!ll someone. It’ll just give you a really really bad week. You can still go to the hospital, but they’ll mostly just manage the pain and other symptoms. Although, I would still recommend it just in case, because the symptoms including pain, swelling, vomiting, and lowered blood pressure can become life-threatening, even though the likelihood that you’ll actually die is almost none. As far as we know, Gila monsters have only been confirmed to have killed somewhere between zero and eight people.

Gila monster in the wild are not to mess with, but captive one are often very chill animals. Their venom is also rarely deadly, but it hurt so much yu probably will wish you'd be 😅

I've had a gila monster. They just want to sleep. They are fun to put on your lap while watching TV. Ackies are really sweet monitors. They also eat everything that moves.
