I thought the new x100vi were being manufactured in China to produce higher volume to keep up with demand? I may be wrong though.

Yup, that's what they stated in an interview with CineD. It's about moving the production to their highest bandwidth factory where the parts are also available much closer for quicker turn-around time. While still having their quality assurance people there of course

Yes, to meet higher demand but also at a much lower cost. Fuji x100vi cash grab imo. Hold back production of the v, increase demand, Raise the price, lower the cost of production.

@@D.TriderIMO I get how you could feel that way, but doesn't it make sense to stop producing a 4 year old product to focus on the newer, more fully featured product though? The demand increase is because they simply could not keep up production for the insane, random increase in demand. And yes, increasing the scale of production usually lowers the cost of production, and having your factory closer/easier to ship the parts also lowers cost of production. If it is true that they just don't have the capacity to produce to meet demand with their Japan factory, then keeping production in Japan will just cause the stock to get low and demand will increase even more. Wouldn't you consider that a cashgrab too? I think the added feature of IBIS and the new sensor makes sense for the $200 price increase, especially when you consider this is similar to the original cost of the X100 camera what inflation is factored. If someone doesn't like that they can always buy the x100v for more normal prices on the 2nd hand market.

@@justaemptymallThey have the same QA assurance people there as they do for the other Fuji products made in Japan, like the X-T3, T4, T5, and X-H2, X-H2s. Do people find those cameras to have poor quality?

I think people don’t understand the power of having to do high quality photos and videos all while in a camera this compact and good looking can be the craziest selling factor! I’ve been shooting for years, trying to look for this solution as a casual shooter. The X100IV made me feel like I’m buying 2 cameras at one price. Most importantly is that I only have 1 item slung to my shoulder and that’s it!!!! This is a dream.. and it’s finally here ♥️

Agree! I find myself mostly keeping one lens on my xt5... Mostly photos, and some video on a tripod here and there. X100vi is so much more grabbable than the xt5 for my preference, easy cop fs.

Dude, I am right there with you! As much as I love the results I get out of my big FF gear, I can't stand lugging it around. Lately, I've been bringing my Q2 along with the Pocket 3 for video and it's been so freeing. All of my FF gear is now basically only used in my YT studio / home office. I placed a pre-order at 3 different camera shops for the 100VI as soon as I woke up in the morning and all of them said I'll be waiting a loooooong time because the lists are so long. The 100VI is going to be sold out for at least a year if not more - for all the reasons you mentioned.

Great video Big E! 6:46 I currently shoot with two Canon r5's and the weight I carry with them wont work when I reach my older age. I bought the new Fuji x100vi and am looking forward to a light weight camera.

I agree. I have a Sony A7IV that I don’t leave the house with often. I typically only bring it with me if I’m planning on shooting something (hike, sunset, paid gig, etc.) I’m getting the x100vi as my first Fuji camera for an everyday camera. I want to get back into photography instead of just going for the bangers. I’m making a deal with myself that if I buy the Fuji I have to bring it with me every single day.

The age of the hybrid camera is growing again, having something like the x100v or vi will just give options like you said. Honestly these are more for people who know what they’re doing with a camera tbh. You don’t need a huge rig to make good stuff. I think these cameras are solid step ups from a phone for day to day content creating

I think the x100v series is great it wasn’t for me cause I like changing lenses. Ended up picking up the silver A7cii with the compact 24mm & 40mm. I think that camera is a great sweat spot. I think what i’ll miss more from Fuji is the film simulations. No one else offers that.

GAS GAS GAS BUY BUY BUY you are NEVER -- and I do mean never -- going to be able to purchase creative motivation, purpose or fulfillment. If you want creative happiness get off of Gear FOMO KZfaq, stop post hoc justifying impulsive purchasing decisions and make stuff. Unless you've honestly never seen a single piece of creative work done with the gear you already have that's better than what you make, you shouldn't even be thinking about upgrading. The gear itself is not going to make you better. Curing "boredom" by buying stuff is a band-aid. The dark side of the creative photography/videography communities online comes from these people who never "create content" that isn't about purchasing more crap.

For me it's the size, nd, flash, optical rangefinder and no question of what lens to bring. I was thinking the same thing. Although I feel like the XT5 isn't really all that much larger. I'll be keeping my XT4 for now and selling my Ricoh GRIII and x for the VI.

Hi everyone, can you help me please to take a side? I'm in doubt between Sony A7CR with Sony Zeiss 55mm 1.8 lens (found for 450 euro) and in the future 24mm 1.4 or should I get Fujifilm X100VI. Money matters but not really. Always wanted to have a full frame, but I'm not sure of the size. I'm just buying for myself not interested in earning with photography. Travel about 4-6 times a year with family. Sick of phone photos especially at night time or any low light. Purpose family, friends, travel. Thank you for your answer
